I purchased something similar from BBB several months ago, it did not work at all.  I can't imagine I was not using it correctly.

These gloves do not get the undercoat that the rake combs get too... it is just surface fur... and yes they make a mess......  They can be nice when bathing the dog when the fur is wet to massage and scrub. But for a good dry  grooming  especially with dogs with thick coats.. these gloves are not enough.

If I even tried to use those on my cat, she would rip your face off...she does not like gloved hands.

I take my Scruffy outside and first I brush her, then I use the Furminator comb.  I could probably construct another dog after I'm through with her but what a difference it makes.  I think she likes it too because she just stands there and lets me comb her over and over.

I use the plastic bag that the newspaper comes in and wipe the comb off after each swipe and it doesn't take long for the bag to fill up with hair.

I could probably make a wig (for Scruffy, that is) or maybe a scatter rug???

I can't say enough  positive things about the Furminator.  Nothing can equal it IMO.  It's an incredible tool.........

Just wanted to add - I would NEVER brush or comb my dog in the house.  Maybe it's OCD but I see enough hair on my Swiffer when I wipe up the floors with it.  I can't imagine what would be flying around if I started combing her inside.

This product is an unfortunate mess.  I don't understand how it got 5-star reviews.  The floor, furniture and people as well as the dogs are covered with loose hair.  I can do a collie or sheltie with a slicker brush, remove a ton of hair and have most of it in a plastic bag with little or nothing on me.
