Our beloved cat had to be put down Dec 15. The last time we had to get a cat cremated we hand carried him to a place and got him back in 3 days. We were so upset and this vet said they would handle all the cremation details and ensured it would be a private cremation as we wished. Well, we just got him back today and the card said "Privately cremated Dec 27". I am a little concerned - why would they wait 12 days to cremate him? I called the vet last week looking for him and they just sounded clueless as to why he wasn't done yet. Now I wonder if they sent him off to a mass cremation and said "oops" when we called last week and gave us a box of who knows whose ashes just to cover the error?
My boyfriend won't discuss it with me but I don't even care about that box of ashes because I think they gave us whatever because they messed up.
Does anyone here have any experience with this? Do they typically hold animals in a freezer or something so long before they finally cremate?
