You're killing me CQ.  I just went to Wal-mart this morning before work to get shredded lettuce and a some new potato's.  After reading your post I may have to make another unscheduled trip.  Probably out of them by now until next week, but oh to look forward to good eats in the very near future.  After your description they may be better than the Janies Cakes just down the street from my office that are on Oprah's list this year.  So expensive.

Beckyb1012, I think you will love them.....I am now wishing I would have picked up a couple for Thanksgiving, darn.I may send Hubby out to Walmart and see if they have any in stock...Usually our Walmart sells out of them so quickly, you can't hardly ever get them, that is why when we do see them we grab several at a time and then just freeze the extra!

My husband LOVES peach cobbler and is waiting for our local store to carry it.

He may have to reach out to other store's to see who carries them.

btw.  Miss Patti won some type of Walmart award for her sales.

@MyGirlsMom, My daughter has her cookbook and made her collard greens last year for New Year's Day. She really loved them.  I don't really care for collard greens so I didn't try a sample of them, but she plans on making them again this year.

I didn't know that she had pies at Walmart.  I may have to keep an eye out and try to get one for Christmas dinner!

You have got to try Patti Labelle's Fruit Cobblers at Wal-Mart. They are fully cooked and not frozen. She has a peach one, a berry one, and an apple one. My favorite is the berry. The berry is a little sweeter than the other two but yummy. The apple is just like an apple pie and the peach is very fresh tasting and delicious. It is as

if you just made them fresh yourself. Super Flaky crust and they are $6.99 at our Wal-Mart. They are rectangle in size and if you don't see them ask about them. Sometimes they are in different places than where we usually find them. I always have a berry one in my freezer. I imagine the pie is delicious also but I am more of a cobbler person. Happy Holidays!

I love Peach Cobbler as well!!!!!!!My aunt used to make them and they were so good, and that crust was melt in your mouth. Does Walmart sell a good one?

Hi back at ya @MyGirlsMom!  If I am thinking of the right time, DD was looking for turkey wings.  I think the recipe cooks the greens down with a turkey wing or something like that.  At any rate....DD loved the greens.

We both really like pumpkin pie.  My husband is much less picky than I - well, who isn't, right?  Smiley Wink

Anyway, I find that I cannot seem to get myself to eat pumpkin pie unless it is one that I made.     This is just another manifestation of my own food neuroses.  I actually am like that with a few things.   But it seems like the basic pumpkin pies I've seen in the store look really more brown-ish than what appeals to me.  Plus, I have that thing about the little white thing in the eggs that I absolutely must remove it before baking anything that has eggs in it.    I can just envision getting a piece of pie and seeing that there (because, yes, it does continue to be visible after baking!).   yikes!

I've always heard about Patti LaBelle's baking and I bet her products are quite excellent.  Smiley Happy

The pie is just one part where I only take limited shortcuts - I do use a frozen pie crust that I purchase in the store.  I like the Marie Callender brand deep dish pie crusts and have also used Mrs Smith's over the years.  I just must make the rest of it, though.  picky picky picky
