Youth would have nothing, in itself, to do with it.

Free2be: Yes, I agree........thought I'd throw that in because of a friend's (actually not a friend, but a neighbor's (around the block, grand daughter) dilemma. Any suggestions/info? According to the neighbor, the GD sometimes makes her mom late for work.)

Growing up in a military family, my feeling has always been :if I'm on time, I'm late:. Sometimes I hate being that way because it makes my wait in the doctor's office that much longer. Oh, well. Old habits die hard.

Twopeas: Yes, I'm always 'way too early', waiting in offices. But, at least I can relax, read a few magazines, etc. without being stressed. Makes a big difference in my demeanor, etc. Not too many dentists want to work on a stressed patient, I'm only thinking.

As a teacher, I have seen my share of passive/aggressive students. An example is the student who chooses not to do the work, ignores his teacher's attempts to get him or her to take education seriously, and listens to his parents' naggings and proddings quietly with no reaction, only to continue to ensure he or she will fail the course. I saw some parents take away just about every privilege, and still the student held out with no sign of improvement or change of action. The P/A person shows no surface reaction, but is seething underneath and takes other silent actions to make a point.
