Without going into too many details, I have a colleague/supervisor (not technically "in charge" of me but has some supervisory duties) whom I suspect of passive-aggressive behavior (at a minimum) and deliberate sabotage (at the high end of the spectrum). There are others in my department who have noticed certain behaviors as well, but this person is virtually "untouchable".
If you have worked with someone like this, what is the best approach for keeping your sanity and continuing to do your job in a professional manner?
direct confrontation about certain "unresolved" issues?
avoidance?
a work-based relationship where the only contact is documented through e-mails?
going above in the chain of command to air grievances?
mediation through a third party?
Thanks in advance for your replies.
