To my knowledge the only thing we pay for other than part B is our BCBS supplemental and DH's CRESTOR is definitely covered.

@patbz - if your husband has traditional Medicare and a supplemental plan like F, G or N, then he should have a drug plan also, a plan D drug plan.  If one has traditional Medicare and a supplement and not a drug plan, there is a penalty.

Or is his supplemental through his former employer?  Maybe that's it.

@781Florist Darn it.  Make a list of all your medications on the medicare.gov website.  Then go to the Plan Finder.  You'll find all the Part D plans available in your area and you can sort them a couple of different ways to get the best deal.  We do that EVERY year.

As an alternative, contact the State Health Insurance Program (SHIP) counselor in your area.  The numbers are in the phone book.  That person can help you find the plan that offers the best deal.  And they have no skin in the game other than helping you.

@haddon9 My Silver Script plan went down one dollar for next year. BUT, now the prices for drugs has gone from tier one 0 cost to $7. They get you one way or another. I am staying with them because they are allow Costco as one pharmacy of choice. The cost for all tiers went up quite a bit with many changes in their formulary for next year.

I second what @Cats3000 said. You can search by your prescriptions on the Medicare website, call an insurance broker, or call your state insurance department.

A broker found me WellCare Part D, which cost me $12 a month last year, and will go down to $7 for 2023. Thanks to that huge piece of legislation that passed last summer, medication prices and insurance costs are going down slightly for us seniors. Yay.

Have you checked out other plans? Yesterday, I received notice that my Wellcare RX plan goes down to $7.50 a month in 2023.

If you go to Medicare.gov and have a MyMedicare account, you can see all the RX policies available in your area for 2023.

Man, I'm going to need someone to help me navigate this stuff, both SS & Medicare.  All I know is my husband has Part F and does not have an Advantage plan.  From things I'm seeing I don't want and Advantage plan.

I'm currently paying over $1K/month premiums and a $7K deductible on NObamacare.  BCBS is the only choice in my area although I don't know whether there are any options on Medicare.  I know when there was another option I was on United Healthcare, but there wasn't any difference between BCBS & UH unless one had better CS, which I don't know.  All my scripts are generic.  I'm tapering off of my more expensive hormones, so the cost is minimal.  I never reach my deductible and never did when it was lower, but at least when I was on a High Deductible plan through my company (before NObamacare) I chose the higher deductible plan and premiums were a LOT cheaper.  Now it's a high deductible plan WITH high premiums.

Go to Medicare.gov and set up a MyMedicare account. You will be able to see all the supplemental and RX plans available in your area for 2023. I did yesterday and my WellCare RX plan goes down to $7.50 a month in January.

I feel your pain. I was paying through the nose though my employer too.  Thank goodness for Medicare, supplemental plans, and RX plans!  It's pricey but definitely not close to what you are paying now.

@tototwo - your Wellcare plan....is your WellCare deductible going up though?  My premium is going down by one dollar and something, but my deductible is going up.

@gidgetgh We have Wellcare too.  The premium is going down by $3.60 a month and yes the deductible is going up.

I take nothing, my husband takes a Tier 1 which will still be $0 at the pharmacy and his Tier 2 will be $15 (up $3 from this year) for a 90 day supply.

@CelticCrafter - I take Xarelto, which throws me into the donut hole every year, along with another drug, a tier 4 drug I believe. A generic came out for the 2nd drug years and years ago and the price has just never dropped at all. Frustrating.

@gidgetgh, I've never had a deductible with WellCare. Still don't. They have several plans available, tho.
