I don't know what you're talking about."PHILADELPHIA - A park ranger is recovering after being brutally beaten while on duty at a park in central Philadelphia, reports CBS Philly.
According to the Philadelphia Police, the unidentified 35-year-old ranger saw several young men skateboarding in the city's Love Park on Friday evening. The station reports the ranger used his radio to call his supervisor and then approached the men to tell them they weren't allowed to skate in the park. One young man allegedly refused to leave and began swearing and threatening the ranger.
Video of the incident shows the young man wrestling the ranger to the ground, according to CBS Philly. The assailant stomps on the ranger and repeatedly kicking him in the head. He also appears to spit on him."
How awful.
With video available - they will be able to get the perp and convict him. These kids with video cameras are not too bright.

Some of the problem is due to entitlement and respect, IMO...... I think lots of people feel entitled to do what they want.... and many are not taught to respect authority. Standing around and laughing sounds like what immature people do....

I just know that there is a legal issue and a moral issue.
That's all.
*the police were notified before the video was being made, the Ranger himself had called them. The ranger chose not to fight back --he feared repercussions on the job supposedly.
What a wonderful world we live in when a park ranger or police officer are going to be worried about their job security if they defend themselves.
I don't see police officers being afraid to defend themselves. On the contrary, they seem to do quite well with defending themselves.Only recently there have been stories about a police officer beating a woman by the side of the freeway, another one about cops fatally choking a man, and a cop brutally pushing a man in a wheelchair.
It happens both ways.
Btw, I come from a family of law enforcement and military personnel. I have nothing but respect for people in these professions. But let's not forget that everyone is human, and brutality exists across the board.
And we can see why so many law enforcement officers have to be on their heels. Too many people don't respect them.
I agree with the three examples you gave, but there are too many officers gunned down or hold off from taking a perp down for fear of some idiot yelling brutality.
The officer on the news today said.., had the police scratched the person being arrested today, people would be yelling police brutality!!!! Yet look at what he did to the park ranger.

You have to be dumb as a box of rocks to videotape your friend beating up an officer (or ANYONE, for that matter)...and then having the tape available to LE.

When an altercation is videotaped in a clear and complete fashion, it is perhaps the best evidence of guilt.

The videotape I think you are referring to is after the fact. A man is heard giving his account of what happened to a friend...it is not a videotape of what happened.
It contradicts two other witnesses who spoke to authorities.
