I have recently seen commercials for Charmin, Cottonelle, and Bounty paper towels. All this does is remind me and annoy me, I haven't been able to buy toilet paper and paper towels for several weeks. Tomorrow is my food shopping day, I dread it, not because I'm afraid of being around people, but because there is so much I can't buy. I just wonder when things will get back to something semi normal?

@Jordan2Haven't been anywhere for a week now, but what I'm hearing those around me makes me think yu could have a better experience this week than last.  Hope so!

It does help that more and more places are limiting the hoarding types as well as telling them they cannot return all the excess they paid for when they overbought.  Hope they have places to sotre years worth of TP!   I like knowing returns are not adding to the dangers already there for us who need to shop.

@Jordan2  We've been fortunate...we had a good bit of toilet paper & paper towels before all this started, and there's just the 2 of us, so it's lasted. But we're getting to the point where we'll need at least toilet paper in the next couple of weeks.

Our local groceres JUST started putting limits on stuff last week! It should have been done at the 1st sign that people were hoarding.

We live in an area where there's a Kimberly-Clark plant...and still can't get the stuff!

@millieshops I hope I have luck on this shopping trip. There are no frozen veggies, canned soup or chickpeas, and no pasta.I may come out of this having lost weight because I'm not getting what I need.

I'm with you on this. Every time there's a Bounty ad on TV it just makes me sad.

I've ordered a lot of microfiber towels and Bambooee "paper" towels. The Bambooee towels come on a roll like paper towels, but once they're torn off, you can wash and reuse them.

@Jordan2    I totally agree!   Last week in the Walgreens ad it had Charmin TP on sale but of course there was none to be found in any of their stores. Why advertise it when it's not available? I know ads are prepared in advance but we are going on month 2 of this virus situation so I doubt the ad was created that far in advance.

I saw the Cottonelle commercial #share a square last night for the first time & burst out laughing because it reminded me of the Seinfeld episode with Elaine in the stall...I don't have a square to spare. Too funny.

I totally agree with OP!  Every time the Charmin ad is on I say out loud, I am very insulted.  It's like they're taunting us.  I wonder what they're thinking, these idiots.  I have anxiety about TP as well. There has been none in my local store for weeks and I can't find any online.  Where is it all?  Do people have 5000 rolls in their garage and if so, why won't they stop buying more? The pandemic isn't expected to last 5 years.  Even if it did, you don't need to hoard TP.

ITA about taunting us with all the ads. I mean, seriously? Is TP something you even need to advertize right now? Everyone needs it and can't get it!

Another commercial I have seen during prime time is for Lysol wipes.  Really?  I don't think toilet paper and Lysol need to spend millions advertising! The stores around here are fully restocked with everything EXCEPT toilet paper, Lysol and a couple of cleaning products.  I am on a waiting list for toilet paper, hopefully Fri or Sat.
