i dont like it at all.....and we received two as gifts. i passed them along to my mom who likes them sliced and toasted and then slathered with good butter.

I just tried it (above).........it works! My mom and I always used anise extract (and/or anise seeds) in her various recipes instead of almond extract.

I never had the fruit one, but I have enjoyed the chocolate chip variety.

I've tried them in the past and thought they were a little too bitter for my taste. My mom's fruitcake has me spoiled most likely as well. It's the BEST!! (imo) -HIF
