I know that you are close to Morgan Hill and followed the Sierra Lamar case. Did you see that the conviction was overturned by the 6th district Court of appeals???!!!! Prosecutors have not decided if they are going to pursue the case. Sad for her family. Her remains have never been found.

thank you both for this thread. Yes, I heard a little bit ago from family!   heard something might be brewing last month.  This is absoulutley upsetting. There is so much evidence he did do it, but some couldn't even be brought up at trial. My granddaughter is now turning 31. She was a junior, Sierra was sophomore  .  My hranddughter and Sierra were friends. I can't tell you the effect this had on her life.  My granddaughter graduated high school, went to college, finished that..went to work and on with her life. She then went back to school and became a nurse. Sierra has never had a chance to do any of that. Her life cut short. Such a sweet girl.    The anniversery of her abduction is coming up in March.  2012.  14 years. Sierra would turning 30 this coming Oct.

I am traveling right now.  Did they say when the court case would be?

@shoekitty - I'm so sorry for you, your granddaughter, and Sierra's family. It doesn't seem fair.

@shoekitty They may not retry him. If so...they cannot do it with the same charges as his first trial because those charges have been reversed. So unfair to the family who thought this would end a part of their grief with the killer in jail for life. So, he will probably get away with murder. He may even get a chance to do it again.

@shoekitty I remember that happening and you posting about it at that time. I was so broken hearted for Sierra's family and your granddaughter. It's hard to believe it was 14 years ago. I hope this turns out with what's best for the family and society .

That's awful and it's so awful for the family that her body has never been found.   I feel so bad for them.

the title of the old thread was made in march 25, 2012. It was entitled, "help my GD's friend Sierra is missing...". Or like that. It is all about the abduction, the police hunt, finding the murderer, the trial and such.  It spanned a couple years.  Interesting. I went back to review myself.

IMO, he'll get what's coming to him one way or another.  If he is released, how would he live?  No one would hire him.   I do think that the state will retry him.
