I wasn't sure if you would see posted on the other thread so I posted this here in hopes that you would.

midnight,

It's just one bummer after another for you at this time, isn't it? As others have mentioned, this is extremely stressful for you both, especially you, and I hope DH understands that. (I often think it's difficult for men to realize the depths to which women suffer, simply because we are women and think and react differently.)

We had some extremely lean Christmases, 4 in a row, when DH was unemployed for nearly 4 years. So...I did what I do best: I baked until I was silly and gave everyone fabulous platters of cookies and bars. Additionally, I spent several hundred hours putting together a family recipe binder for my daughter. Went into Word and put one recipe on each page with fun comments at the top. Then slid two recipes into one sheet protector, each one facing out. When it was complete, my daughter had a binder with family recipes of appetizers, salads, entrees, muffins, breads, cookies, cakes, other desserts and a final section of recent recipes from our SIL's family. These recipes included those from my grandmother in Michigan, Aunts in Michigan, Grandfather's Russian recipes (don't know how he kept track of these during the revolution), grandmother in San Francisco, few from my awful cooking mother (LOL!), my favs from cookbooks/mags/Chronicle cooking section, and a few jotted down when I saw a chef in person. This book is worth the world to us.

Point is, there are things that can be done that will cost but a few dollars.

You WILL be blessed with a job that will allow you to bring home a decent salary. Let's all keep praying for this very thing for midnight.

I know this is a long thread and the chance of you seeing this isn't very good but I just wanted to say that I loved your post.

What a beautiful, loving and thoughtful gift you gave to your daughter. Wow, it just blew my mind when I saw that. I think a gift like that is far more wonderful than anything that can be bought, and I have received some really lovely expensive gifts over the years, lol!!

I don't know but your post just really touched me. You seem like a wonderful person. I am sure your daughter loved that gift and will treasure it always, I know I would.

"Lets all keep praying for this very thing for Midnight".... I see so many mean and nasty things on this board sometimes, and for you to not only pray but ask other to do so too, really put tears in my eyes. I am an Atheist too!!! Lol... I am not easy to cry at all but I just wanted you to know how your post made me feel.

Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable.
