Paging Noel, Northern Californians

Does anyone have any encouraging news about rain in the near future?.  It was 81 here today, and will be warm all week.  I checked NOAA and any possibility of rain is gone for the week.  There was a hope for thursday but that was replaced, with 76 day time weather.  When they say 76 here, it will be 80.

I love California, but I hate this drought.  I am almost in tears as we are loosing trees due to this drought, and there will be more cutbacks.  El Nino was a bust.

I was hoping someone would have encouraging news.  February, and still winter, and I am wearing what is left of my summer clothes.  I have had to wear summer clothes almost year round for 3 years, LOL!

Sadly, I have no encouraging news.  I think we may get a few sprinkles over the weekend.

A lot of my drought resistant landscaping is dying...even junipers that lived through previous droughts.

I haven't been following it lately but isn't there a really good snowpack up in the Sierra Nevadas  (normal amount even?) ? Or is it melting already?

Sadly, with Sierra temps in the 70's it is thawing.  We really haven't had rain in a few weeks.  It did rain one night  a wwhile back.  But other than that it has been hot.  SoCal had temps in the 90's.

Drought continues in SoCal where El Nino barely made an appearance. I am in Palm Springs area where it's of course always dry but I go back & forth to Orange county where we used to live and there's hardly been any winter rains.

Keep doing our rain dances!

Re: Paging Noel, Northern Californians

I have heard, sadly, that El Nino is already fading out. I am further north of you @shoekitty and we have a chance of rain on Thursday.

The drought has not diminished new construction.
