Packing for 5 Day Trip

Let me start by saying that I always seem to pack way, way too much for every trip we go on and I'm really trying to get some advice about packing light especially since we'll be flying to Vegas in the next week and don't want to have to pay for extra baggage and things I'm not going to use. I'd really appreciate it if those of you that have a handle on "packing light" will fill in me as to how to do this. Please tell me what you would bring for 5 days in Vegas. We're only seeing two shows so we'll be mostly casual.
