of course she would go home. she probably has a huge staff and support system than most do now. the care she would have at home is probably better than any hospital can provide. she had a baby......not major surgery.
i left the hospital after 24 hours......a big difference from my mother who was able to stay in the hospital for a week!
not sure why anyone is surprised?...or in awe for that matter.....

I love the dress which was especially designed to honor Princess Diana and her dress when she had Prince Harry. Totally awesome.

My insurance wanted me out 24hrs or less! LOL The hospital did all my paperwork for discharge to make them happy but told me I couldn't go until they did certain things for the baby...can't remember now what it was. Once that was done I could leave even if they also wanted me to stay which they did with my 1st son...but insurance said out in 24!
My Mom stayed at hospital for 10days or longer back then....like a mini vacation...left all the other kids at home for my Grandma to care for. As soon as my Mom got in the door my Grandma SPLIT!! LOL
Heck they used to "knock you out" to have a baby....my Mom never pushed or even knew anything about it LOL...she'd wake and ask "what is it?" LOL
Boy how times have changed!! Kate looks like she could do a cover shoot leaving hospital so soon afterward!! Amazing...

Catherine had a herd of hairdressers, make-up artists, and dressers to get her ready for her brief appearance outside the hospital. When she went home, she and the baby would certainly be safer than being in the hospital. They have a medical team to attend to mother and baby. Looking back on my own post-partum experiences, I think I could have done what Catherine did if I’d had the same helpers at my disposal.

I was just wondering. Especially since when I had my daughter, it wasn't the best circumstances. I developed pre-eclampsia and had to have an emergency c-section at 28 weeks. My daughter was born at 28 weeks, but was in distress and stopped growing at 26 weeks. She weighed 1 lb. 7 oz. Was not breathing when delivered. But happy to report almost 13 years later, she is a happy, healthy girl. The miracle of medicine! But...I do remember that I had my baby the same day a very popular news lady had her baby. She had a photo session and was all done up and stuff. Due to my pre-eclampsia, I was bedridden and I knew I looked awful, all swollen and stuff.

Both of my deliveries were quick and uneventful. I would’ve been a good candidate for “drive-thru” delivery service if such a thing existed 40 years ago. I stayed 3 days with my first, and 2 days with my second.

The newborn didn't care - it was asleep.

@RedTop@sunshine45 40 years ago I delivered C-section and was home 36 hours later. No biggie.
Like I said-wimps. LOL
Yes, in my mother's day the stay was 7-10 days.
