My dog died today in the hospital. He was bad on Saturday and I knew he did not have much longer. He was my life. I don't know what I will do without him. He was nine years old. He was doing okay and then he collasped on our walk on Saturday. He was a brindle pitbull.

I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my almost 14 year old dog earlier this month, so I know how hard it is.

I feel so badly about your dog. I've got a collie rescue with serious problems. We go to a specialty clinic and see an internist. She has racked up about $5,000 in bills there since September. Fortunately a rescue group is taking care of her expenses. She had a miserable life; I just hope I can give her some good years. While everyone is eating their ham and lamb next Sunday, I have an appointment to take her in for a re-check.

When you're ready, consider adopting another dog. They are such wonderful companions.

I'm glad you had more time with your Buddy these last few weeks.

I have lost pets over my lifetime and reading of another's loss brings back sad memories of my own.
