I missed it!  I didn't hear about it until after.

Bummer.   I frequently pass thru that area!

When her debut album was released in 1983 a music critic I heard on the radio said "This is horrible....this girl will never amount to anything."

HA!

Like a Virgin is probably my favorite tune of hers.

I wanted to be her. I was about 20 years old when she hit the scene and I had so many scarves to tie my hair up and started my life long obsession with red lipstick.

Desperately Seeking Susan was my favorite movie. By far Into The Groove was my favorite tune.

I saw parts of this NYC pop up and I also saw her performance with Sabrina Carpenter at Coachella and she has got it going on.

Still a QUEEN.

I saw "Desperately Seeking Susan" in the theater multiple times!  What a terrific, accurate view and depiction of time and place.

During filming Madonna exploded into international superstardom.  So, the producers decided to give "Into the Groove" prime exposure.

Rosanna Arquette was initially the "star", but for obvious reasons marketing shifted to Madonna.  Rosanna expressed her disappointment at the time and the media made it into a mini-feud. However, she has since stated her admiration and respect for Madonna.   She would even like a sequel!

Both actresses were wonderful and I love the movie!  Would be fun to see what Susan and Roberta are up to today.
