Here in St.Louis we got 8-10" of rain overnight, a record rainfall for this area. Power outages, flooded homes and cars.  People had to be rescued from homes.  I heard the thunder but never heard any rain !! ( My family can't believe I never heard the heavy rain) Woman Surprised I live on the first floor of an apartment complex The rain is finally shutting down for the day but suppose to rain again later tonight.  Anyone else have record  rainfall last night or today ?

It has rained on and off all day here in southern WV; from steady showers to buckets full.   Rain is in our forecast all of this week and the entire first week of August.

This area has enjoyed a steady amount of rain this summer; we are lush and green with streams and rivers full of water.  Those who get water from a well should not be worried about running out of water anytime soon.

My cell phone and local TV channels continue to send out flood alerts for this entire county, as there are many low lying areas as well as residential areas near local rivers that experience serious high water and flooding issues with the amount of rain we are receiving.

@Goodie2shoes

I just saw pictures of the flooding in St Louis on the Weather Channel!  Hope the rain will subside for you!

I am in Central Illinois and we used to travel to St Louis often as my daughter lived there for several years.  Have had many good times there and lots of good food too.  Among my favorites is Pappy's Smokehouse.  Now that is some good eating!

Stay safe down there!

I was shocked to see how much flooding happened all over the area of the city and county. They shut down the Arch due to flooding and one of my son's friend's home in St. Louis County was flooded and he barely escaped with his 3 children. I used to live on that street many years ago.

I have been to Pappy's smokehouse and you are right ! that is some good eating !! Woman LOL

I spoke to my niece this morning who lives in St Peters, and even though there was historic flooding, they had no flooding around their property.

The pictures on the weather channel are terrible.

So many horrible weather related events going on in several states right now. 😢😢

Talk about feast, or famine. People are being flooded in parts of the country, while others are in severe drought. And, the events are atypical for this time of year.

I hope there are no lives lost with the flooding. This is getting crazy.

So glad your niece was ok !  I'm not far from St. Peters just over the Mo river. My daughter lives out that way also, heavy rains but no flooding in her area.

I saw that on the news. How terrible for you all. I'm in PA., and we've had no decent rain for about 3 weeks. Everything is brown and crunchy. Hope those affected are okay and will be helped thru the mess left behind.

Her MIL had water in the basement but not sure where she lives.  All of you take care.
