Hello everyone. I apologize if this has been discussed already. A family member works where there are barn cats, and he has been feeding them and giving them treats (he has a soft spot for cats). The problem is he has been taking them water, but now with the cold weather, it freezes.
Is there such a thing as a solar heated water dish? I see where there are heated ones with a cord, but I don't know if the owner will allow that. I saw online solar water dishes for birds, but I don't know if that will work for cats.
I read that it is better to use a deep dish as opposed to a shallow one as it won't freeze as fast. Other than that, I'm not having luck finding any other options. Any advice and tips would be appreciated from those who care for feral cats.
He made them a cozy spot in one of the sheds to keep warm, and they really like it. It is just the water situation that has him stumped.
Thanks in advance.
