Re: Out in the woods, take a deep breath

@Bri36  You must be living my life - we live 2 miles from the gulf coast , Florida beaches and in the summer go to our camp in the Pa. mountains. We love our life!

Re: Out in the woods, take a deep breath

I go into a wooded area every day I walk Story - the road is open fields on each side, then goes down into a wooded area - I love that part of the road - see all the wildlife roaming around - hearing the woodpeckers drilling away at dead trees.  Squirrels jumping around the leaves on the ground and up into the trees.  Outdoors anywhere allows me to take a deep breath and enjoy Mother Nature!  I never see anyone outside in my area - they are all stuffed up in their houses - they hire people to do their lawns and gardening - I don't get it - nothing better than getting your hands dirty and enjoying the sun and fresh air!  I'll continue to do my own lawn work as long as my body allows.

Re: Out in the woods, take a deep breath

It just felt good to be outside yesterday. The sun was shining, it was windy but nice and I spent the morning gathering thousands of pinecones ( no exaggeration ) from my huge pine tree. It is cold again today, but it won't last.

Anywhere there is silence, so I can hear the natural world without man made disruption.  After a heavy blanketing of snow overnite, earlier this morning our electric went out.  The sound of silence was wonderful.

Mine is my cabin on a beautiful almost pristine lake in Canada. We drink the water from the lake untreated but not sure how much longer.More people have discovered the beauty.I sit with coffee early morning and watch the sunrise. There are ducks, mink, beaver and even the occasional bear swimming and feeding and entertaining me.We have rabbits and deer wander down to our property to munch grass and flowers.

As the sun rises the birds are chirping cranes, loons, robins and of course some rude crows.Thats also the time when people awaken and boats start up and mans noise alters the serenity a little.

Where I live, out in the woods. Any time I feel stressed or need to clear my head, I take a walk on one of the many trails we've made. Nothing makes me more grounded and relaxed  than being out among nature.

I feel the same way by the Coast, as long as it is a hidden, isolated area and not with a bunch of people around me.

Live in the country and never take it for granted.  Have always loved the ocean. So peaceful and calming. Even if it's crowded. I find my space.
