Nope, at least mine doesn't. The employee told me this up front. I asked because delivery would have been on a Sunday and USPS doesn't deliver on Sunday. Fed Ex does, however. That led to the conversation about nothing is guaranteed. Also, the sign at the counters states in TINY TINY print that your package may not get there as stated due to service restrictions.
I don't care for Fed Ex as my area has had an issue with thefts during the Holidays but hearing that from the USPS employee, I use them instead.

And I bought something... needed it on a deadline. lt tracked out to delivery from merchant but was actually sent back to them .... not to me. I had to explain to them why I needed a refund since I never got it.
So much fun.
I can certainly relate to what you said. I joke that I work for the USPS part time since I have to re-deliver all the misdelivered mail I've received.
And also if I order a small book that easily fits in the box, the post man will make me pick it up at the post office, but a t-shirt I ordered from Macy's he crammed that thing in the box and I thought I'd never get all the wrinkles out............

People itch and complain all year long about how terrible the postal service is, and at how awful their mail delivery is, yet at Christmas time, they can't wait to push cash in to the hands of those same awful postal delivery people, as a holiday gift/bonus/reward.
You really have to laugh at the hypocrisy of it all.
I guess that it's a case of forgive and forget, eh?
Our subdivision has a bank of mailboxes and with the poor service I receive I would LOVE to someday meet my postman to tell him what I think of his incompetency and mistakes he makes.....that is the only "gift" he'd ever get from me!!!

WHAT THE HECK USPS???????????????????????
I have 5 return tracking numbers on returns I made via USPS with basically no info as well. My USPS returns have a lot of $$$$$$ tied up in these returns. Where are my packages sitting? Who has them? I even pulled up USPS.com to see if I can find out more info on all or any of them and nothing. NOTHING!
There are so many on this post who are saying the same thing. Surely we cannot all have lost returns sitting somewhere in the USPS offices. I am so griped about this!
What gives? Are they really still sitting at our post office or are they sitting in some QVC warehouse that haven't been processed yet?
WHERE IS OUR RETURN MONIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WHEN you use the Q label, your packages will SIT at the post office where you dropped them off up to a week, then they go to another post office where they will probably sit again, then they get to the Q for return processing.
However, if you opt not to use the Q's label and return via priority mail, your packages will not sit, they will be delivered in either 2 or 3 days.
It's not the Q's fault, that is how the label works. You can wait up until 3 wks for them to get your merchandise back. If you are willing to wait that long, wait for your refund, use the Q label. It's only quick to peel from the sheet, it's not quick actually sending it back.
The only thing I have had good luck with USPS is my QVC returns using the Q return label...............those surprisingly show up pretty quickly for me............sorry you've had bad luck witht he process

@mousiegirl .. I guess I must just be lucky because we have never had an issue with our carriers. Only once in the 31 years I have lived in my house was a UPS package mis-delivered.... but the person who received it brought to us... she was just around the corner.

The problem is a long wait on hold but they do offer to call you back and not lose your place in line when the wait is long and they always do.
I called them at a little past 8:00am this morning shortly after they opened and was able to talk to someone right away about my passport return envelope sitting at the hub in Philly. They emailed the hub right away.
They also will not be please to hear that a PO isn't answering its telephone. Get on it with the national CS line - they get stuff done!
My story's update is on my passport thread:

@Boehm Collector Yes, you are lucky. I even had to return a Valerie item, a little chest of drawers, because UPS refused to bring it to my door, instead he left it near the road after I told him to take it back with him since he refused to deliver it, and I couldn't carry it. UPS should not accept items that they cannot or will not deliver in the first place. Then, I had to hassle with Q customer service to make it understood that I was not returning it of my own volition, so I would not be charged return mailing, and this is just one story.
I am not buying much here lately due to this problem since Q only uses UPS for most items. One night recently, UPS showed up at almost 9:00 pm, just as I was getting into bed, and I told the guy that this time is unacceptable. I decided by signing up for MY Choice, I could make one pick up a week at the store, instead of living daily listening for the truck, etc.
