I am so frustrated, I could bite nails into! I mailed a package on June 2nd to Alameda, CA. I've been watcing the tracking and saw that it was out for delivery on June 5th. The package was sent with signature required. Well, by June 9trackng had still not updated to show delivery. So, I contacted the person that was to receive the package to find out if maybe they had received it and for some odd reason, tracking just did not show it. No, they said. I do know that if no one is home to sign for the package, they are supposed to leave a note stating that they will attempt re-delivery or you can call to schedule a delivery time. The person the package was mailed to also told me they did not receive any notice. So, now I call the Postal Consumer Affairs for the Bay area and they open a case for me. While she had me on the phone (last Friday) she called the Alameda Post Office and was told that the package was on a truck for delivery at that very moment. OK - fast forward to Monday -- I check tracking and it still shows out for delivery. I contact the person receiving the package and she says she hasn't received it. So, I call the woman at Consumer Affairs who is handling the case for me, and I tell her it still hasn't been delivered. Now this is what really has me so irritated - she has called the Alameda P.O. Monday, Tuesday and now today (Wed) and no one answers the phone. She has sent e-mails to the postmaster and has not received any response. This is our wonderful postal service. I think they probably lied to her about the package being on a truck Friday. They've probably lost the package or someone working there has stolen it.

@moon_gazer  I could tell plently of stories of lying from USPs and UPS, and missing packages.  A similar situation, I spoke to someone "in charge" at the post office and he said he was looking at my package, I assume he was viewing it on screen in a department, didn't know why it wasn't delivered, and I never heard another word, as he refused further calls from me.  I sent a CD of the phone conversation to the Post Master General with all paperwork, and never received a response, so was out almot $50 on that.

There is stealing in the post office, so now I insure everything.  I once had a post office deny they had a package for  four months and only after a claim was filed, good thing there was insurance on it, did they "find" it on their shelf, had been sitting there all the time.

I'd like to say I am surprised, but I am not. I have had several "nightmare situations" with the post office. That is why I avoid them at all costs if I can. At least if UPS loses something, they take care of it right away. UPS is terribly expensive though.

I hope your situation gets resolved quickly, but I have my doubts.

@CatLoverDogsToo  I could write a book on the nightmare situations with UPs I have had.

Last week, UPs returned two packages to the senders without ever leaving a notice that they had tried to deliver.  They are supposed to take packages to an access point, but they did not do this.  The two companies replaced my orders, some items were sold out by then, so I didn't get all of what I originally ordered.  I could go on and on.

I finally signed up for My Choice designating no home deliveries and all packages to be taken to the access point, but drivers are still showing up, unbelievable!

Re: Our US Postal System At Its Finest

Mailing anything thru the postal office is a joke.

I was mailed some slacks by Blair catalog. shows as being delivered. I go up to our central mailbox location. there is lock boxes for large size packages. I get a key in my locked  normal mail slot I have. Open up the locked box EMPTY as usual. I called Blair they were of little help. Post office was closed. I waited til next day when I ran into mail man delivering mail at the central location. He said I had to have gotten the package he put the key in my box. Then I asked him to open up the entire lock boxes front door. Sure enough my package was hidden in a locked box that only the mailman had the key for. I grabbed my package .  I don't trust any of those mail people at all. I have lost so many items over the years when USPS is used. right now am wondering if a $56.00 order will make it to me from LA. Ordered some make up. I have track #. Hopefully I will get it.

People itch and complain all year long about how terrible the postal service is, and at how awful their mail delivery is, yet at Christmas time, they can't wait to push cash in to the hands of those same awful postal delivery people, as a holiday gift/bonus/reward.

You really have to laugh at the hypocrisy of it all.

I guess that it's a case of forgive and forget, eh?

@Plaid Pants2 .. I do tip our mail carriers... because they are not the ones who are responsible for items not reaching their destinations.  Our carriers always deliver what is given to them.  If the items do not reach the carrier it isn't the carriers fault.

@Boehm Collector  Mail carriers have marked packages delivered when they have not been delivered, so I don't trust them or the post office, or UPs.

@moon_gazer  I am sitting in my living room right this very minute saying EXACTLY the SAME thing you are about your returns - for that matter so is everybody here!!!!!

WHAT THE HECK USPS???????????????????????

I have 5 return tracking numbers on returns I made via USPS with basically no info as well.  My USPS returns have a lot of $$$$$$ tied up in these returns.  Where are my packages sitting?  Who has them?  I even pulled up USPS.com to see if I can find out more info on all or any of them and nothing.  NOTHING!

There are so many on this post who are saying the same thing.  Surely we cannot all have lost returns sitting somewhere in the USPS offices.  I am so griped about this!

What gives?  Are they really still sitting at our post office or are they sitting in some QVC warehouse that haven't been processed yet?

WHERE IS OUR RETURN MONIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WHEN you use the Q label, your packages will SIT at the post office where you dropped them off up to a week, then they go to another post office where they will probably sit again, then they get to the Q for return processing.

However, if you opt not to use the Q's label and return via priority mail, your packages will not sit, they will be delivered in either 2 or 3 days.

It's not the Q's fault, that is how the label works.  You can wait up until 3 wks for them to get your merchandise back.  If you are willing to wait that long, wait for your refund, use the Q label.  It's only quick to peel from the sheet, it's not quick actually sending it back.

True true true. They sit. Why? Because there is a contract regarding SurePost for a specific vendor to pick up THOSE packages and carry them to specific places (UPSP centers). It's not just QVC but ANY package with a SurePost label; they all go into a special bin/area. My area ONLY has pick up when a specific NUMBER of SurePost packages has been met; don't know what that number is. Took me awhile to find this out but when I did, it all made sense.

Once I have record of it (I get a receipt), I wait a few days and see where it is. If it's still sitting, I contact QVC CS and request a refund as they can see it's in the return system and that I don't have it. They've done so every time.

I sent information in a large manilla envelope from Pennsylvania to Florida 2 day priority mail certified, return receipt.  I kept tracking it.  It says it was delivered six days later and I never got my return sigmature card back.  Really? I asked at the post office if I could get a refund since it wasn't delivered in two days and I never got the signature card back and the post master told me it is not a guaranteed service. Can you believe that?

Re: Our US Postal System At Its Finest

@moon_gazer  This morning I logging into their site entered all of my tracking numbers and got nothing that way either!!!!

I dbl checked the numbers to make sure I entered all of the correct digits and the message that popped up was either I entered wrong, or they had no info.  So this method doesn't work either!!!!!!

Re: Our US Postal System At Its Finest

@BLH  Actually, the USPS does not guarantee ANY of their shipping practices other then it will get there.

For this reason, I use them only for Priority Mail or standard mail. Beyond that, it's Fed Ex for over anything that MUST be there overnight/2 days.
