It might have been a pellet gun    Whatever it is, it's legal here.

Re: Our Neighbors

[ Edited ]

After my husband died ,i moved here there was a man and his family lived next door,in a rental  he had fits, screamed ,used bad language, he called the police on me because of my dogs barking , my dogs were not out for long,i was always there, the police new him, they had trouble with him several times before, one day he came over asked if my dogs had got a hold of his kitten,no i said, i ended up going over to check on his cat, trying to make peace with him, the police came again on another day, because four kids were running around on my property with guns, i did not know if the guns were real ,or not, i told the police about me going over to check his cat out,i was told never go into his place,or be alone with hin, never,he did not pay his rent and was forced to leave,i was so glad.

When you lose some one you L~O~V~E, that Memory of them, becomes a TREASURE.

@bri20  My boys have pellet guns. Imagine my surprise to find out it was ILLEGAL to shoot them in a community setting as well?  We have woods and nope, can't use them there. I have to take them out to a specific range for pellet gun users.

Needless to say, we sold them because...who has time for that?!

They seem very dangerous to me.

We've had trouble like that.  Explained to the neighbor and they set a cut off time.  DH had a problem with football being thrown in the street in the evenings.  I sent him out there to "talk" to the big kids.  He did ... he joined in ... and they learned a cut off time and a new player.  Smiley Happy  I think he misses those boys.

Great post @Preds, thanks for the smile! . . . Smiley Happy

The neighbor behind us bought his sons a BB gun for Christmas.  They have already shot our patio doors twice.   Neighbors can be so annoying.  They think the world revolves around them and their noise

@bri20 please tell me they fixed the door(s) at their expense right? . . . Smiley Sad

I wouldn't mess with your neighbors too much.  Ever watch the show on the ID Channel called "Fear Thy Neighbor?"  People are nuts today.  You bother them too much with complaints they will make life miserable for you.  Playing basketball outside is a common thing in summer and fall.  All kids do it.  You can't stop that.  Just grin and bear it.  That goes for big wheels too.

Reading your thread though reminds me why I love Winter and living in a rual area!!!

The kids, or the pellet guns? Smiley Very Happy

The only noises we hear are birds, turkeys, deer if we are sitting out on the porch or deck and they are walking through the timber, coyotes, wolves, quail,  all God's creatures depending on the time of the day. Smiley Happy

Once in a while a car coming or going down the road,  of course then they wave - we wave - the way of the country.

However, the daughter-in-law just called (they live about a mile away) and they are all headed over here - son, wife, granddaughter, grandson and his girlfriend, four greatgrandkids with assorted friends who will want to visit the horses.  It will get noisy very soon.   good noise, of course.

This is a very interesting thread.  We moved here in 1997 and most of the kids were the same age - now many have grown older and moved on.  In the mean time we've had several houses built as well as bought and sold.

Our children are young adults and in college and I miss the 'the sounds of summer'.  Across the street from us are two boys who have a basketball hoop and they like to play until 10:00 and guess what?  My husband and I don't mind a bit.  We LOVE the sound of children playing and having fun.

We live in the country and I detest the sound of gun fire..rapid paced gun fire ...which is perfectly legal where we live.  I'll choose quads and basketball over that any day.

I'll see your gun fire and raise you my Tannerite explosions.  At least the weather has been so  destructive that so far I haven't had to deal with crop cannons this year.

What is good for the goose today will also be good for the gander tomorrow.

@momtochloe, surprisingly he did.   Sent my husband over and he said to get some estimates and he'll cut a check for the window.  It's happened twice now.  After the second time, I suggested he either take them away from his irresponsible boys or I would have to take other measures.   His wife butted in and said they were taking them away.   Lol
