Don't you think being aware is enough? Knowledge is priceless, it's also a cautionary tale.

What can we do? Pressure China to clean up. They love American dollars and trade. Trade has always been used as a lever.

yea, but they own a lot of our debt. They hold that over us. I think the only way to combat what China does is pull our industry out of there and bring the manufacturing back to the USA. It's going to cost us more to produce and consumer prices will be higher,but at least it would employ the US workers who have been out of a job for years.

China IS cleaning up.

They are beating us in alternative energy sources.

They are heavily subsidizing solar battery development (which is why Solyndra went under).

They leave all the warmaking and world policing to us...they know they can win by becoming the #1 economic power in the world...no wars necessary. They are smart.
