We've been lucky as far as snow (SW PA).  Got our first substantial snow Wednesday evening, about 5 inches.  Usually we get nailed.  DH & I were out and about yesterday and I found it quite pleasant.  Roads had been cleared and were dry, bright sunshine, blue skies.  Temps were about 28, but having no wind made a real difference.

@Lipstickdiva  It's so nice to be able to talk with someone who also lives in this area.  I did have the TV on all morning before I left the house.  Channel 19 puts Jon Loughman out on the roads (they must not like him much), and they were going like 7 MPH on 71.  You couldn't even see where the road was.  I kept looking out my window to check........I couldn't believe it wasn't snowing in Mentor.  We did get a few inches overnight.  What city  or area do you live in?  (You probably told me before, but I forgot.)  Cat Surprised

Allegheny

I'm close by (near the famous battlefield of the Civil War in PA) .... and had to hunt my porch rug this morning.   The 'winds of war' blew it off somewhere in my neighbor's yard!

No snow here in Ky., but wind chill is -1.  We are in for a roller coaster ride.  Cold forecasted for today and tomorrow.  Saturday they are saying the temp will rise into the 60s, then plummet down for a high in the 30s for Sunday.

@cosmic1   Hi Neighbor.  You're about 25 miles north of me.  It nice to see someone 'local'.  I will say, your weather up there always amazes me.

I'm east of Cleveland, in the traditional "snow belt."  Last Friday we were hit with a ton of snow, and the roads were not cleared, it was a mess (I never made it to work that day).  Today, I feared the worst because of the cold, blowing and drifting lake effect snow.  Well, as luck would have it, the winds have changed and most of the snow is over Cleveland and their west and south sides.  Those roads are totally snow covered and there are white-outs.  Other than the bitter cold, I had no problems getting to work!

Yeah we got a dusting last week here!  LOL

I had one of the local radio stations on this morning and a woman called in.  She said she got on 271 North in Cuyahoga Falls and there was no snow at all.  As soon as she hit Macedonia, it was a total whiteout and she said they were literally going 5mph.  She had been on 271 for an hour and a half and still wasn't at the 480 split!!!!  She was going to work in Shaker Heights.

I think I would have given up and went home.  LOL

I came up I-71 this morning, almost 3 hours to get from the airport downtown.  Fun morning.

@CrazyDaisy  I'm glad you made it up 71 this morning.  I was watching those weather chaser guys on Channel 19 this morning on Rt. 71.  It was a real mess.......even the weather chaser was only going about 7 mph much of the time.
