In our system, there is such a thing as circumstantial evidence that can convict someone, which makes it even more astounding that Casey Anthony was not convicted. There was a preponderance of circumstantial evidence and of course all the lies she was caught in.

Do they have to prove beyond a reasonable doubt in thier court system?

The judge makes the decision with the input from 2 others who sit to her left and right.

She had a jury trial. She managed to dupe some of them. {#emotions_dlg.thumbdown}

Maybe he's a Sociopath. He did it but wants people to feel sorry for him.

I still can't figure out how. The audio of the 911 call where her mother said that Casey's trunk smelled like a dead body would have been all it took for me to be convinced that she was guilty.

I believe he intentionally shot her in a fit of rage.

I was living in Orlando when the whole saga was going on...it truly made me ill. My GrandDaughter was the same age as Kaylee was, and when her body was found, I was at work and had to leave for several minutes. I was so upset, so was everyone else that lived /worked in the area. The trial was a travesty - her parents were her puppets, lying for her all the way. Casey Anthony is the most vile creature on this planet. Susan Smith (the woman who drowned her 2 small children in So. Carolina) comes in a close 2nd...I was living in the area when that happened, too. {#emotions_dlg.crying}

I'm sorry, but I sure wish this could have stayed on the original topic and perhaps start another thread to discuss the CA situation. Sorry.
