Re: Ordered new Washer from Lowe's.

RE: LOWE'S

Glad you had such a good CS!  We also experienced consummate customer service with  a tile backsplash to be installed. When no one responded to my daughter's request for confirmation, we took another trip to the store. The manager of the department apologized for our trouble and gave us $200 in store credit, which we promptly used for several new light fixtures.

The installation date had to be moved because of the installer's family emergency, and a rep called my daughter with apologies and gave her $150.00 credit!

We are more than pleased with this company, and would recommend them heartily for anything you purchase.

Lowes is where I have purchased almost all of my appliances. Their service and no-interest for six months is always an attraction for me. Those who deliver and install seem to alwasy know what they are doing. Enjoy your new washer.

Re: Ordered new Washer from Lowe's.

I'm glad to see these positive opinions on Lowe's because I thinkk my washer and dryer are getting ready to go to that big laundramat in the sky. They're about 12 years old and they're Kenmore but I'm not sure Sears (?) is still making them.

My previous ones were Maytag and they lasted 26 years, I don't expect the same quality--my Maytags were great quality but it's my understanding they don't don't make 'em like that any more. So I'm braced for my appliances will die together--I bought them together so I expect them to fail at the same time,

Thanks for the reviews on Lowes and if anyone has any kind of experience with any other brand, I'd like to hear it.

@Zhills I noticed it was the computer that caused your problem and caused you to need a new washer. I do not think we need a computer to operate our washers. They did just fine on the old, manual dial. Why did the manufacturers decide to abandon the mechanisms that had worked successfully for decades?

Oh how I wish we could just have simple appliances with knobs again!  My oven of 28 years died and I replaced it with a GE range.  God I hate it.  I was able to get a model with knobs for the burners, but the oven and other controls are on a digital touchpad in back.

It takes 20 minutes to preheat, and if you want to change the oven temperature you have to turn the ****** thing off, then back on, and reheat process all over again.  I've had the service guy out twice to look at it because the oven thermostat is off.  The second time he said "well that's how it is, new appliances don't work like the old ones do."

We got ours at Home Depot.  Same thing.  They took the old one away and installed the new one.  I too prefer the top loaders and always try to get those.  Yes our old one had a primitive computer and they lasted for years and years.  The newer models have more  sophisticated computers on them and don't run as well years in to the future..
