I want to send a "thinking of you" flower arrangement to someone who lost her husband last year at this time. In different times I would go into the florist shop where they know me. I could call them, but I wanted to see what you all say. They will be going to someone who lives far away.
Can anyone recommend a site to use? TIA! ![]()

I would contact a florist with a brick-and-mortar presence in the recipient's town. I find you get a better value buying local. The florists local customer base relies on providing a lovely arrangement at a reasonable price.

I've used and liked From You Flowers for several years for many different occasions.
They have some of the same arrangements as other sites for less.
They always have sales that are very nice and discounts.
If you order balloons, they will deliver directly as opposed to in a box.
You can get a vase or without a vase.
I've also looked online at reviews of local florists and sometimes ordered form a florist near where the recipient lives. That can be a good option too.
I do agree with others that opening a floral box and getting the flowers out and getting rid of the box can be too hard for older people. I like to send my mother a bouguet that is delivered as well from a local florist.
I don't like to open or get rid of the box either. I would rather have an arrangement delivered all ready to go.

That's sweet of you. I would call the florist in your area that you know. Tell them you've always have been happy with their arrangements and could they recommend someone in the area where it's to be delivered.

I contact a local florist in the recipients home town. They can tell me what flowers are available and we talk through the arrangement. Always have good luck.

check out bloomsybox on their website or on qvc.
i also like bouqs.com.
both have beautiful bouquets that are a bit more unique.

I agree with the others. Call a local florist near your friend. I've found local florists are usually as good if not better than the "big boys."

I prefer to send arrangements, rather than flowers in a box. I use either FTD or teleflora. That way the recipient can enjoy them right away and you're not creating work with your gift. Plus if the recipient is older, dexterity, and cutting the flowers under water, plus opening the flower food packet can be difficult. Local florists are great to if you'd rather call and describe what you're looking for and a price range.

My arrangements never were delivered yet I was charged! A fight to get refund🤬
first one used was ProFlowers: stated were left on porch 🤷♀️
twice: FTD online -- no show
What I do now is search for florist in area -- look at the reviews & go from there.
Recently, my niece moved into new home I called local florist -- arrangement was beautiful & arrived on date requested. No more $ than the online sites and less aggravation.🙂

@beach-mom 've had great success with Amazon. Benchmark Bouquets in the search engine. Pick the arrangement you like. I have Prime so I do not pay for shipping. They are delivered quickly, beautifully arranged. I've sent some to myself as well, so I know what the quality is like..........the pink roses with the white lilies........lovely.
