@MamaWick I don't know where you are, but Wild Heart Ranch is in Oklahoma and might be able to help. If that's not in your neck of the woods, you could still calll them and get information. They answer their phone.
google their name. They also have a FB page.

I have placed a call to a local wildlife rescue number. Waiting for a return call. Will be calling our county game warden tomorrow.

Thank you so much!
I was thinking of that or similar but I don't know how they will catch a deer, though I guess they do and are used to helping wild animals, hawks and everything.

Have you thought about contacting your state's wildlife rescue? Since the deer frequent your yard, maybe they can tranquilize it to remove the antler.
You'd need to notify them when the deer shows up. They may not want to do it, but it's worth a try.

I did speak with one of my county's 4 game wardens. Unfortunately, he says there is nothing he can do, he doesn't carry a dart gun, and that the buck will just need to carry on as is. That said, I would hope that the buck would try to rub the velvet off and maybe lose that antler because I think it is a bit loose.

@MamaWick , I have found that game wardens are not very helpful at all with wildlife problems. Check to see who is your top Furbearing biologist in the state and place a call to them. They are usually much more helpful and will have a list of people that might be helpful to you. I would send the photographs to them. Make sure they know that your game warden has been notified and the results of that. Good Luck.

I was hoping that too that he can just rub on a tree to get it off without it hurting too much or too much damage. I hope!
