I know they can lose antlers during the season, however this boy has it growing back, curling under his right eye!

Bless his little heart!  I hope he doesn't lose his sight or get hunted because of it!Smiley Sad

That's so sad. I wonder if he will be in pain and blind in that eye.

Aww,  Rotton luck that.  Hope he keeps the sight in that eye.  And picks his battles this year. Fingers crossed he diddn't do permenant damage to that antler bed and it doesn't grow back the same way next year.

Ouch - that's going to hurt, if it doesn't already.  Maenwhile, he has to deal with an unbalanced head.  I feel sorry for the guy.

Oh what a shame. These have been such happy and pleasant pictures. I suppose now I'll stop opening the deer posts. No offense intended but there's already so much angst to go around.

@MamaWick

The angle of some of the photos make it look like it might be growing into his eye.  Is it doing that, or is it just curling down and growing straight out from the face?

That is very sad and worrisome.  If you have a wildlife rescue organization in your area, please try reporting to them..it is possible that they could help or know of a referral.  Maybe U.S. Fish and Wildlife, too.
