Over the years I quit many times, sometimes cold turkey, two times with the patch, and one time I used Chantix. None of those things worked for me long-term. What did work for me was e-cigs. I haven't smoked a cigarette for two years, and have reduced my nicotine level to 3mgs. I'm not saying for you to do what I did, but I do encourage you to explore your options, and do what works for you.On 2/6/2014 luvpoos said:Kudos to you, you're making progress. Wish I could, I smoke about a pack a day. The only time that I quit was when I was pregnant. I see those Chantex commercials and wonder if it really works. Then I wonder sometimes if it's too late. Not a good feeling. Keep up the good work.
I wonder too if it's too late.I read one post last night that she or he said that it probably was too late if anyone was smoking and decided to quit.

Go to Walgreen's and get you one of the Blu disposable e-cigs for about $10. It's not the best, but this will hold you over and keep you and your husband from killing each other for a few days, up to about a week. Do not judge all e-cigs based on the sharpie marker sized Blu e-cig.
I highly recommend the company Vapor4Life out of Northbrook, IL. Their customer service is top-notch and they have frequent sales. They have starter kits to fit just about every want or budget and they've also come out with a new disposable (which I have not tried). I'd like to suggest that you order your starter kit with a manual battery. I started with the automatic batteries and ended up exchanging them for the manual ones. I've been much happier with those.
If you have any questions, I'll be happy to try and help you. I know it's all overwhelming and confusing to sort through. Been there, done that. Congrats on taking the first step!!
Disclaimer: I do not work for this company, but I have been a loyal customer for close to 18 months.

I also highly recommend using e-cigs to quit. If you have it firmly in your mind that you are only going to use them to quit, they will be very helpful in your quest to be smoke free. That's how I did it and it was relatively easy...took me about three months on e-cigs before I tapered off them and quit completely.

Dam Yankee thank-you so much. I will look up that company. And yes i have heard of the Blu will also pick that up.I am finding it so hard though. Why isn't there any rehab places for smokers? There is for alcholics and drug addicts and i thought cigarettes were a drug.

E-cigs will make it easier Brandonlee. Trust me. I never would have succeeded without them. They help to take that edge off and help to get your mind off the intense craving you feel right now.

it's not so much the craving but the loss of hand to mouth movement.........the e-cig will satisfy both those needs.....................................raven

You're very welcome!!!
I won't lie, it is hard. You'll still be growling that you want a real cigarette, but that feeling will pass after a while. Honestly, the Blu e-cig is only going to be to hold you over until you get your order from another company. You will likely not be happy with that big, clumsy thing, but I promise... it will take the edge off.
As for your other question... that's any easy one. It's because smokers are 4th class citizens and it's much easier to mock, shun, and humiliate them, than it is to reach out their hands to help them. I know, I've been there.
Stay tough. You've got this. ![]()

When I get down to zero nicotine, and I'm almost there, I will still buy the liquid in 0 strength because I like the hand to mouth part of it.
