Re: Okay, what would it take?

It would be a scorpion for sure, and a spider somewhat slightly less.

I was watching Forensic Files the other day and a man tried to harm his wife in a very unusual way. He knew she was afraid of rats and mice, so he put a couple of rats in her car's center console.  He called her when she was on her way to work, driving the freeway, and asked her to look in there for something he had lost.

Of course it caused her to lose control of the car, but nothing tragic came of it, thank goodness.

I have a friend who crashed her car into a tree because there was a bee buzzing around inside.  She wasn't badly hurt, but it was embarrassing for her to explain it to the policeman who came to her rescue!

This episode, along with some of the things mentioned on another thread - butterflies, sharks, frogs - got me wondering what it would take for me to have a wreck.  Without a doubt, it would be a snake - any size, any type, venomous or not, I'd be off into a ditch before I could scream.

Any of those things --- big spider, snake, rat  --- you name it.  I am shuddering as I write this.

Re: Okay, what would it take?

I am not fond of snakes or crawly things but they wouldn't panic me to lose control of the wheel; I would calmly stop the car and get out.   But, a human in the back seat would  cause a panic situation....or maybe a bear....

@ECBG

I agree with you. I have an agreement with the snake world - I'll stay clear of them if they'll stay clear of me.  No snake patterns in my wardrobe.

I think with most insects and rodents I could maintain my composure long enough to pull over, but if I saw a snake in my car I would freak out and do whatever I had to do to get out of the car as quickly a possible.
