Re: Okay, what would it take?

Very interesting scenario... I'm really not spooked by walking, flying or crawling things but intellectually if they are venomous (and everything in So. Ca. was potentially venomous) it would really bother me but I'd try to continue driving and pull over so I could get out....

I walked by a baby rattler on the concrete by the side of the house back in So. Ca. (I had on sandals) and was only one foot away from him.  I thought he was a tree branch.  When he moved when I was right next to him I froze and he eventually ran for the hills and I was ok.... nasty things (and I needed new glasses!) ....

Re: Okay, what would it take?

@Q4u I live in SoCal....and snakes creep me out.  I have seen a few on the trail where I run.  The scariest was when I was running and jumped over what I thought was a bike tire tread....it was laid straight out.  I turned around... it rattled and slithered back into the scrub brush...gives me the heebee-jeebies just thinking about it.

A spider would do it for me, no matter how tiny. Eeeekkkkk...........

Re: Okay, what would it take?

I think this is interesting.  Because it doesn't take too much to startle some people (me included). A bee or wasp might be just distracting enough for me to take my eyes off the road just for a few seconds....

I personally think that would do me in is a dog or cat darting in front of me.  Smiley Sad  I'd have to swerve...

Re: Okay, what would it take?

My mother rear ended a car at a stop light when a bee flew into the car and stung her causing a 4 car collision.

BTW, she was eventually cleared of charges.

@Texasmouse

I can't tell you how many times my dad cautioned me to check the backseat before getting into my car.  I'm 58 years old and I still do it.

I would like to think I'd be able to stop the car and get out.  None of the rodents mentioned would scare me enough to lose control.

@FUTURE,Totally agree with you!  I don't want snake pattern on my clothing either!

Re: Okay, what would it take?

OK, this I am sure this is going to be an unpopular post but here goes it anyway, in defense of rats, I have had 3 pet rats, speaking of the 3 that I had they were sweet & loving animals and I mourned their deaths like I would have any pet.  Katie, Sallie & Susie will be remembered in my heart forever!  And, they are very good listeners!

That said, I would gladly hand over my car if a butterfly or bee flew in and threatened my life, YES I said threaten, I have no idea why these two creatures move me to the EBBIE JEEBIE (I have no idea how to spell that) Jive, but I am deathly afriad of both!

@CareBears We had 3 pet rats too. Awesome pets. Way better than hamsters, gerbils, guinea pigs, etc. Super social, knew their names, never bit. Highly recommend over those other "rodent" pets. Lol

For me, the only thing that freaks me out is are spiders  - not enough to cause an accident though.
