I hope your pie arrived.  I bought a Pumpkin pie from Jewel, our grocery store, and it is delicious.  The spices used made it outstanding and serving it with whipped cream even better.

Yes, my husband did, but got no answer and answering machine didn't pick up.

However, all is good.  Her husband showed up about 7pm.  Gosh I felt sorry for him, he said he had 18 more deliveries.  We're very non traditional and got her coconut cream pie.  It is better than my mothers.  And for only $13.00 with free delivery it is well worth it.

this is why we always keep a schwans fruit pie or cream pie in the freezer......easy to bake when you have a "dessert emergency."

just finished baking homemade pecan torte and a homemade cheesecake. i am so done for tonight. we are also having pumpkin pie and apple pie from a local farm......and turkey sugar cookies.

Glad you got your pie!  By the way, has anyone tried Marie Callendar's pumpkin pie (frozen)...it is delicious and a great pie to have on hand even if you don't have a "pie emergency!"

Well I just finished  making  9 pies, so I think we will have  dessert.

Well I have to share something comical about the pie delivery.

So the guy called us from about 1/2 mile away and DH gave him very detailed directions on how to get to our house.  Like "when you come up the lane you will see two houses, at the Y stay right and turn into our driveway.  Porch light will be on."

I watched him drive up the lane and of course, he went to my brother's house.

My brother, his significant other and her family were having Thanksgiving last night.  They were expecting a male friend of her daughter who they never met.  

When the door was opened (by another family member) my brother's girlfriend thinking the delivery guy was her daughter's friend, loudly greeted him with "Well come on in and join us".  She saw pie in his hand and thought how nice he brings a pie.  She also thought to herself, I'm gonna have to talk to my daughter (20 year old), this guy looks a little too old for her to hanging out with.

I wonder what went thru his mind.  Anyway, after they sent him down to our house, they all burst out laughing.
