Welcome Gretta...
I agree with you. I think there has to be more specific instructions on whether religious threads are permitted on these forums. And what is the difference between Among Friends and Viewpoints? Why is Among Friends the designated place to put these types of threads when in fact religion is a Viewpoint?
Thank you, SoftRaindrops. I don't think there's anything in the rules that states specifically that religious posts are forbidden. Since the ptb here allow religious posts, I assume it isn't against the rules. As long as it's kept to Among Friends, where there is less of a chance of argument. I do wonder though, how open minded webbies would be if other, less mainstream religions were represented. Or if atheists started a thread about why they believe there's no God.I agree with you. Anything less mainstream never seems to be discussed here.
There are a few posters here who have taken a certain amount of flack because they have stated they are atheists or agnostic. I find that wrong and have never understood it.
It's noticeable that the comments by those holding "less mainstream" beliefs are much more often removed than any of the others. I think it's a shame, maybe even disgraceful, certainly disrespectful, and another important point the moderators need to take into consideration. There should be room for everyone. If there's not room for all, they should completely prohibit the discussions of faith, religion, spirituality -- and we know they won't do that, because QVC uses it as a selling point for some of their merchandise.
Not if they are made in a respectful way.
I will use Raven as a prime example.

I should've said the judgment of Solomon. It's the parable about a child, and two mothers who both claimed the son was theirs.

I think that is below the belt...they know exactly what they are doing. I know how bright and intuitive you are and it was very easy to pick up. This disappoints me.
croemer, Do you really think I approve of anyone being unkind to another? For any reason? If so, that's too bad but I can't change your perception. Honestly, I have no idea which post(s) you refer to, so I'm not sure of your reference.
Not directed at you, or any other poster specifically, but I'm hoping this can be a civil conversation, without it being necessary to "take sides." If not, I'll exit as gracefully as I can.

Hi, Scotty! I hope you're right. I really do.
Maybe things have changed for the better. All I can attest to is what I've seen, so that's what I based my comment on.
(eta: I never know whether you like "Scotty" or "Scottie" and I constantly interchange the two!

Gloriajean doesn't exclude anyone from her threads either. Just my 2 cents...Sunny's thread is more of a coffeeklatsch, whereas Gloriajean's is overtly religious. I am not excluded, in the same way that I could walk into any church and not be stopped at the door, but it's not somewhere I want to be (in the same way that I don't want to be at a bluegrass festival, just not my cup of tea).
That's how I saw it too, Clover. It's more just good wishes and non-denominational in tone. GloriaJean's is clearly christian-based, which is not something I am interested in.
I suppose I can see why QVC wanted Sunala's thread moved, even though it is not overtly religious. Perhaps they looked no further than the title.

Right here doo. I did not and would not ask you to leave a thread. This was a shot at me...I believe and was unwarranted:

Sunny's thread was a Jewish thread. Her prayers in her OP's were lovely Jewish prayers. I liked them. But let's not split hairs here. I posted on her thread from time to time.
She welcomed everyone but so does GloriaJean. If you don't feel comfortable with Gloria's threads that is on you. Just as if I don't like Sunny's thread that is on me. I happen to enjoy her threads but they are definitely in the Jewish tradition.
We should all be able to get along and post together in regards to those.
