Hello my friends! Sorry so late - we went out for supper tonight, actually for a belated nice dinner at the Cafe for our Anniversary Date, no time before this, and Jim, his brother, who does the cooking there, and Cami, who works there waiting on people and mixes drinks etc, and who takes the reservations, all greeted us with a hug!! What other restaurant would greet people like that? Jim came and sat with us, and wanted to know all about our party etc. and he told us his wife has been in and out of the hospital this past month or so, with Diverticulitis and finally recently having surgery done - is maybe coming out of the hospital on Sunday. Her name is Michelle - please pray for her healing. Jim and Michelle were invited for our celebration, and he emailed me about her and what they are going thru. So tonight I thought it'd be nice to give her a Get Well Card, so found a really nice one, signed it and gave it to him and he was so touched that I did that!! I don't know her, but knowing him, she must be special. He's so devoted to her, and they are raising a grandchild too. Before we left, he came up to me and asked me what I'd like to drink - he always gives us something, and a Chocolate Martini came out of my mouth, so he got me that for an after dinner drink, and Linus a wine port that was so good. What a blessing! We had decided we weren't going to drink any alcohol as that's so expensive, so we just had coffee with our meal, and then these after dinner drinks on the house was so special! Then Lori called while we were there, and she came to the house and waited for us to come home and she took me shopping - she bought new drapes and wanted me along. And with my Penny's charge card, she got them for 60.00 less!! She paid me already. It's always fun to go shopping with her. Praying for you all!!! And all are welcome here!
Unhappiness within comes out in an emotional reaction, unlike the happy
person
who is slow to anger. Lord, help me to glow in Your presence so that the
heat of
the moment doesn't get to me.
Scripture for the day:
"The effect of righteousness will be peace, and the result of righteousness,
quietness and trust forever." ~Isaiah 32:17
Meditation for the day:
"The effect of righteousness will be peace, and the result of righteousness,
quietness and trust forever." Only when the soul attains this calm, can
there be true spiritual work done, and mind and soul and body be strong to
conquer and bear all things. Peace is the result of righteousness. There
is no peace in wrong doing, but if we live the way God wants us to live,
quietness and assurance can follow. Assurance is that calmness born of a
deep certainty of God's strength available to us and in God's power to love
and guard us from all harm and wrong doing.
Prayer for the day:
I pray that I may attain a state of true calmness. I pray that I may live
in quietness and peace.
A Prayer To The Holy Guardian Angels
Heavenly Father, Your infinite love for us has chosen a blessed angel in
heaven and appointed him our guide during this earthly pilgrimage. Accept
our thanks for so great a blessing. Grant that we may experience the
assistance of our holy protector in all our necessities. And you, holy,
loving angel and guide, watch over us with all the tenderness of your
angelic heart. Keep us always on the way that leads to heaven, and cease not
to pray for us until we have attained our final destiny, eternal salvation.
Then we shall love you for all eternity. We shall praise and glorify you
unceasingly for all the good you have done for us while here on earth.
Especially be a faithful and watchful protector of our children. Take our
place, and supply what may be wanting to us through human frailty,
short-sightedness, or sinful neglect. Lighten, O you perfect servants of
God, our heavy task. Guide our children, that they may become like unto
Jesus, may imitate Him faithfully, and persevere till they attain eternal
life. Amen
A Blessing from the Queen of Angels
Know That God Loves You
My mission on Earth at this time
is to reach the many
who feel lost or alone.
Don't you know that every
breath you take is felt by God?
Every tear that falls
is caught by an angel?
As you read this message today,
kneel and ask your Guardian Angel
to take your heart and
place it in the hands of Jesus.
Then pray simply;
"Lord, watch over me daily,
and light my path home to thee."
Your heart is now
in the safe keeping of God.
Thou art loved, thou art loved, thou art loved.
Take Up Your Cross
Take up your cross, the Savior said,
If you would my disciple be;
Deny yourself, the world forsake,
And humbly follow after me.
Take up your cross, let not its weight
Fill your weak spirit with alarm;
His strength shall bear your heart and nerve your arm.
Take up your cross then in his strength,
And ev’ry danger calmly brave,
To guide you to a better home,
And vict’ry over death and grave.
Take up your cross and follow Christ,
Nor think till death to lay it down;
For only he who bears the cross
May hope to wear the glorious crown.
To you, great Lord, the One in three,
All praise for evermore ascend;
O grant us here below to see
The heav’nly life that knows no end.

Kindness is a quality that belongs to the very nature of God (Mt 11:29). If
you love God, it follows that you must also love all that God loves; and God
loves the neighbors with whom you live. That being the case, you will go
your way in life looking for occasions to help each and every one; to give
them consolation, and to do all in your power to make them happy (Lk 6:33).
Kindness should be uppermost, especially in dealings with the poor because
they are treated harshly by many. It also should be apparent in dealings
with the sick and infirm, because these are already suffering under
infliction. But above all, kindness should be our guide when we have
dealings with those who are our enemies (Ro 12:21). Hatred must be
conquered by love; persecution must be conquered by meekness.
Loving others isn't an option; it's a requirement -- a command. Not liking
someone is no excuse for not loving them. As a follower of Christ, there
are no excuses for not loving someone.
Let us pray:
Lord, we pray we may be all you have called us to be. May we be alert to
the enemy's schemes to steal our positions in the truth; to knock us off
guard and buckle our knees in fear and weakness. Help us to stand true and
strong in our position of faith today. May we be courageous in the face of
adversity and compassionate in the midst of confusion and chaos. Apart from
you we have nothing, but with you today may we be on guard, true,
courageous, strong and filled to overflowing with love. In Jesus' name we
pray, Amen.

Pope John XXIII - Meditation for the Feast of the Guardian Angels - 2
October 1959
According to the teaching of the Roman catechism, we must remember how
admirable was the intention of divine Providence in entrusting to the angels
the mission of watching over all mankind, and over individual human beings,
lest they should fall victims to the grave dangers which they encounter. In
this earthly life, when children have to make their way along a path beset
with obstacles and snares, their fathers take care to call upon the help of
those who can look after them and come to their aid in adversity. In the
same way our Father in heaven has charged his angels to come to our
assistance during our earthly journey which leads us to our blessed
fatherland, so that, protected by the angels' help and care, we may avoid
the snares upon our path, subdue our passions and, under this angelic
guidance, follow always the straight and sure road which leads to
Paradise...
Everyone of us is entrusted to the care of an angel.
That is why we must have a lively and profound devotion to our own Guardian
Angel, and why we should often and trustfully repeat the dear prayer we were
taught in the days of our childhood.
May we never fail in this devotion to the angels! During our earthly
pilgrimage we may often run the risk of having to face the natural elements
in turmoil, or the wrath of men who may seek to do us harm. But our Guardian
Angel is always present. Let us never forget him and always remember to pray
to him.

Hi jubilant! Very nice! Thanks for sharing it. So nice to see you here, my friend!

Hello to All!
Gloria, it's nice to read about the yields in your garden, your 'coincidences' that are positive, and your deals that come out in your favor. It's those things that add up. Yours are daily and if we could bank them all away, we'd be the wealthiest people. Will also mention your request for your acquaintances health in my highest thoughts along with the others who post here. My blessings are many and I get stronger each day from my ordeal. It will be around 105 degrees here so we are thinking of taking a drive to a beach city for the day. It would be more accommodating than the heat as it's usually 20 degrees less there.
I am daily grateful and appreciative for this nation. I give thanks for her outstanding troops, citizens, allies, liberties, privileges, rights, resources, generosity, strength, and resilience. We are all truly blessed. Be at peace and know that you are loved.

Love Roses - Thanks for your post and my goodness - here we are so cold and you are driving to a beach city where it's 20 degrees cooler! What a difference from MN to CA. And PA too, is colder now, isn't it, Harlene?
Harlene - If you did mention it, I forgot you have that too, what a long word to spell! Didn't know you had two surgeries for it. Her name is Michelle - I've never met her, but Jim speaks of her alot - the love of his life! Oh we had a great time there at dinner!! Everytime we go there, we leave with such a happy spirit - because of Jim. It was because of Jim some four years ago he helped us keep our house, remember when it was for sale and I sure didn't want to move? He found a broker for us, someone he hired for a waiter, who let us know we could re-finance for 4 percent and that did it for us! Jim arranged the meetings with him, and wouldn't let us sign anything until we checked with our own back, and they came up the same percentage so we went with our bank which we didn't even need an appraisal. Remember I was praying to Mary all this time for her intercession and help, and everything came to place on the her Feast Day - the Feast of the Assumption! Aug. 15th. What a Miracle! and that's what I prayed for - a big Miracle! Jim helped us so much and we are so grateful for him in our lives. So we pray for his wife, Michelle.

Hello friends....It is cold here. 43* right now. Pay day I'm going to Lowes and stock up on salt. I need an out side broom too.
Gloria, your Linus sounds so much like my beloved Buck. Their personalities seem alike. I miss my Buck.
Blessings to all here and those who read. My grandkids are here this weekend and they just left for the movies with their dad. Hope they bring me back some pop corn, Ha!
I hope Jesus answers all your prayers and keeps you well and happy. God is love. My COPD is better today, but I worry about the cold weather coming.
Lovestopaint, I'm sending you a card of thanks. Late I know....Pray for a revival in America.
Have a good day.
