Right here doo. I did not and would not ask you to leave a thread. This was a shot at me...I believe and was unwarranted:

I find it counter intuitive to think people of such great faith would point fingers at someone else, when confronted with an inconvenience. That's not the kind of faith I wish to embrace.

Very thought-provoking comment, GG. Makes me think about the parable of the wisdom of Solomon. I'm constantly trying to remind myself that my actions need to match my words.

Thanks for clarifying, croemer.

I don't/didn't see GG's comment as being directed at a specific poster. My response was in the same vein, as a general observation, particularly because I'm interested in the concept of our deeds matching the faith we profess to follow (I've written about that before). Nothing more, nothing less.

Well I would think it has become obvious now...and to use Christianity as a way to bash another poster is below the belt. I am done now.

I too, am interested in the concept of actions matching professed faith or belief system. The older I get, the more important I think it is. I loved the wisdom of Solomon analogy.

Re: Odd. Threads being moved in their entirely to different forums.

Posters have been telling other posters that a thread belongs in another forum for years.

It's nothing new. I guess the webmaster is going to do it for you if you can't start a thread in the proper forum.

I always saw Sunny's thread and Gloriajean's thread open to everyone and anyone.

Another shot off at me, very unkind.

You are clearly trying to pit posters against each other. It's so childish. You have been taking shots at anyone who doesn't agree with you. Calm down. It's not that important.

With all due respect, croemer has every right to speak up if she feels she was the target of negative comments. GG, I didn't think your other remarks were directed toward specific posters but these clearly are. This is one of the reasons it's so hard for us to have a civil discussion -- personal attacks appear and feelings are hurt. I think that's a shame and I believe it ruins an otherwise interesting and helpful conversation. Since I was brought into it, I'll apologize for any upset I contributed to and I'll exit the discussion.

I also have a right for speak up when I'm being targeted.I was not speaking to or about Croemer. She I inserted herself into the conversation with accusations about me. Don't apologize. It's hard to walk a neutral line here. I understand.

How would you know *it's hard to walk a neutral line here* ... being you are so new?

Just curious. Smile

I am not Jewish, many of the people who post on Sunny's thread aren't Jewish.

I post on Sunny's thread..

Either religious discussions are against standards or they aren't. I can understand wanting to keep them in one place, but I'm sure if I stated a daily thread with Koranic verses, it would be deleted, even if I started it in Among Friends.

Welcome Gretta... Smile

I agree with you. I think there has to be more specific instructions on whether religious threads are permitted on these forums. And what is the difference between Among Friends and Viewpoints? Why is Among Friends the designated place to put these types of threads when in fact religion is a Viewpoint?{#emotions_dlg.confused1}

Thank you, SoftRaindrops. I don't think there's anything in the rules that states specifically that religious posts are forbidden. Since the ptb here allow religious posts, I assume it isn't against the rules. As long as it's kept to Among Friends, where there is less of a chance of argument. I do wonder though, how open minded webbies would be if other, less mainstream religions were represented. Or if atheists started a thread about why they believe there's no God.

I doubt that would last long. In fact, I started a non-religious thread years ago, about how the UK recognized the Druid religion. I am not a Druid, but I thought it was fascinating. Let's just say that it was going along nicely, people of many backgrounds, faith, non-believers, posting nicely, until someone had to post Biblical scripture about the "weeds".

Maybe you should try it again, but put it in Among Friends. Maybe others would have respect for it there.
