I assume "the age of possibilities" is supposed to be positive, but if all they talk about are the negative issues related to women's aging, that would be a turn off for me.

I haven't watched any of their over 50 shows, but the products I've seen online haven't been that remarkable.

@Roscoe the Rascal

Good for you! Hope you enjoy your new "adventures".

I need to find new things to explore in my retirement too.

Hope you both enjoy the weekend!

Thank you and you as well.

This tagline of "50 Is the Age of Possibilities" has been bugging me - tonight I have figured out Why.  I'm watching parts of the usual "beauty" shows and the message every minute is "As you age after 45-50, the only possibilities are that EVERYTHING on your body dries up, droops, wrinkles, spots, falls out and fades".  Thanks for the Reminder QVC!  What a Message.

@CaliGold67  Yep, it is veiled misogyny. I have always said that. All those things happen to men too. grrrr Woman Mad

Not so veiled?

I find it offensive. I can't believe any employer would it to be a marketing schtick or allow employees to demean themselves and viewers on air.

Age of possibility for me tonight was I went to a painting class first time ever.  68 here and now that is anything possible for me.  Getting away from the tv and trying something new.

Next week is a book club first meeting that I just joined for 6 weeks .  First time for me too.

Congratulations!

I'm just a couple years older and am trying new things too. It's fun.

IMO, it's a waste of time and energy to scrutinize something so intensely and get so worked up over it. Everyone is so easily offended by the least little thing these days. 🫤

Your life experiences are different from everyone else's. We don't know what each person has gone through in life to flavor their opinions or have certain things trigger them.

Oh boy, start passing out the bubble wrap. 🙄

If someone has certain triggers, it's up to the individual to know what to avoid and not expect the rest of the world to bend over backwards and kowtow, to accommodate every possibility.  That's an IMpossibility at any age.

I agree that a number of posters are reading much too much into a simple brand awareness campaign, making more out of it than actually exists.

Much ado.

@THEY CallMe Mr Wilkes MR Wilkes, you aren't a female often subjected to the harsh criticism of looks you encounter at all ages, especially older.

The sad fact is that much of this comes from other women, who judge by appearance.  So we get the image and mindset that women are beautiful, beautifully dressed and never wearing something "that doesn't flatter my figure" even if one has no real figure to flatter.

A lot of these images of women come from women.  All of it belittles the person behind the makeup and the body enhancing clothes we are suppose to wear to define us.  QVC is playing to that image.  And it also means you are a girly silly air head.

So yes it is shameful and degrading to women.  Not to men.  Who cares what men wear?  Who expects them to be giggly and a barrel of laughs after 50?

I agree. Go find another age to demean and make fun of.
