Wondering if anyone here with a Mac has converted to OS X YOSEMITE yet. If so, how's it working for you? Any changes that seem important? Good or Bad? Thanks.

I loaded it a week or two ago. I have a 2010 1/2 Macbook Pro with i5 Intel processor, 4GB of RAM and NVIDEA 256 MB graphics. I have seen a significant increase in that spinning pinwheel since loading Yosemite which isn't making me happy. I believe it has to do with a change in how they process images. First time ever I wish I hadn't loaded an operating system upgrade.

The advantage to Yosemite is that it provides an improved platform for sharing between multiple Apple products - linking your iPad, iPhone and computer. If that's not a big thing for you, I think I would skip this upgrade.

I'm glad I had trouble trying to load it. I think I'll wait a couple of months and see what problems everyone else is having before I try to load again.

I have waited, wanted to make sure there were no big problems first as I am no geek and get frustrated easily.

I did take my phone off the cloud after all the hoopla. mr henny thinks I am nuts and should re connect. What do you think?

I haven't installed it on mine, but DH has installed it on his. He hasn't experienced any performance problems. The only differences I see on his are in the Safari interface and the dock icons. Both look flat and unappealing to me.

DH did just tell me that iPhoto doesn't want to work with anything prior to iOS8. If you haven't updated to that on your other devices, you're going to run into trouble.

I have heard that there are some compatibility issues, if you use Firefox as your browser, which I do use.

Anyway, the bottom line for me is that I'm still upset with Apple for the hideousness that was iOS7. Apple products have been a disappointment to me since the passing of Steve Jobs. IMO, the company died with him.

I don't even use iPhoto, so I'm sorry that I can't help you with that. I never cared for it.

As for your cloud question, I agree with you and don't use it, either. I have my own server space, so a mythical cloud of servers in the sky is of no use to me... lol.

I upgraded it on our iMac the day after it was released. No problems.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?
