I’m kind of surprised at the criticism.

You know what they say. "A Rolling Stone  gathers no moss." They have a new album Hackney Diamonds and are planning a tour!!  They have been together for 61 years!!

I saw The Stones twice. In1989 ant the Orange Bowl, Miami and again in 2002 in Sunrise, Fl. I hope They will come to Florida.

These old geezers keep going. Paul McCartney has a tour planned and Frankie Valli is 89 and on tour now!

Two weeks ago we went to see Lionel Richie , and Earth, Wind, and Fire.  He was up and down the stage, maybe even dancing "on the ceiling" He played " all night long"...2 hours! He is 73! Fantastic. We were exhausted when the show was over!!!!

Age is just a number!

They were never my favorite band, but they are my favorite band to see live in concert.  The show that Mick Jagger puts on for his fans is spectacular. The music was always spot on and the guys have soooo much chemistry. In my concert days, when a concert was affordable, I saw them 5 times.

Side note: I grew up on a lake that had a place called Danceland, they played there one night in the early 60's when they first landed in the US. I asked my if I could stay up and listen from across the lake. I sat in a lawn chair on the beach wrapped in a blanket and heard them for the first time "live".

I first saw The Rolling Stones in 1966 at my high school football field.  Unbelievable really.  I've been to maybe five concerts since then.  Good for them to keep on rockin'.  Who cares how old they are or how wrinkled.  It's all about the music, oh and Mick too!

Re: OMG! The Rolling Stones

Mick knows physical fitness.  A lot of people don't know but Jagger grew up on British TV.  His father was a physical fitness instructor.  They had a fitness show on TV.  I think Mick was about 11 or 12.  He had a middle class background. First time he was on TV was in 1957.  There are couple of videos from his time on TV on youtube.  He was as athletic as his father.

I saw blurb on the news this weekend about the Stones--that they're going to release an album some time this fall.

There was a photograph of them and OH MY GOD!!! they each look older than Methuselah! Mick Jagger is just as skinny as ever and he's covering the countryside with children, left, right, and center.

I'm afraid one of the guitarists will break off a finger in the middle of a song.

Yes, but this comes across as disrespect for those who are seniors.

@ahoymate I hate the term "senior" and think it is awfully disrespectful to older people.  I am OLD.  I am not a senior anything--graduated long ago.

It's like it is too shameful to say "old."  Or like I'm afraid of being old so you'll call me something else and we won't have to admit it.

Good grief.  Our country should grow up and not be ashamed of being old!  It's a good thing!

@Sooner.  Geez, if you want to be called old, we'll be glad to accommodate you, but just call me "seasoned".  I'm a seasoned citizen.t

I like to say I am "established", too.  It confuses people....

I loved the Beatles but when the Stones came to America I fell in love with them and their music instantly!  Their first album consisted of blues songs of different singers, I loved the blues and the Stones obviously did too!  I first saw them at the Academy of Music at Manhattan in 1965, tickets priced Seven dollars and change, third row seats.  I followed them from then on.  Brian Jones was waving to the people entering the theater, He was at a second floor window, were we excited.  I saw them many times after and had their pictures all over my bedroom walls!!!  Yes, I was a fan among many.

I am not surprised they still perform and have energy and most of all am happy to be growing older with them!!!!!!

The Stones are my favorite band. I saw them in concert 2 times - the first time in Madison Square Garden with Ike and Tina Turner as the opening act. The second time was in LA - Guns and Roses was the opening act. BOTH of these concerts were FABULOUS!!!!

@Kachina624 YES!  I am old.  I feel so blessed to be old and I loved my old relatives so much.  I'm honored!  I'm proud of it!  I have no problem at all being called old.
