We had a couple of inches over a week ago and then it warmed up a little. They predicted snow maybe 1-2" today starting late morning/early afternoon here in the St. Louis area then a pause with more snow( a bit heavier snowfall and inches) in the evening but it came in earlier and heavy so they started closing schools and some schools telling parents to come get their kids because they weren't running the buses. My 10 yo grandson has a cold so he was home today thank goodness because he rides the bus. The weather service apologized to the schools for the mistake in the weather prediction. Traffic was backed up for miles with people trying to get home and I guess many left work early after the updated prediction. The news station interviewed parents who were unhappy with the weather misshap as one could imagine So happy I'm retired ! I anticipate school closings tomorrow as it's really coming down again. Stay safe all in the path the snowfall !! I think it's headed NorthEast

@Goodie2shoes. You'd better bag it and head South. Winter hasn't even started yet.

Oh I have been through some heavy snowstorms over my 75 yrs !
I remember a snowstorm in 1982 when it snowed so much, my neighbor across the street had to come over and dig the snow away from my front door so we could get out of the house !! One of my neighbors was sleighing down the street. We had to walk through the heavy snow down to the neighborhood store to get groceries because we could not get out of the driveway. The grocery line for checkout was to the back of the store !! Thank goodness we haven't had one that bad since then ! ![]()

I live in upper MI. We have as much snow now that we usually get in Feb. The only difference is my lake hasn't frozen over yet. That typically doesn't happen untl Christmas.

I'm with you! We got a couple of inches and they say we are going to get a couple more. This is just the first, but I am sick of it already. Anybody who has to shovel snow - you know what a pain it is - especially if you are older! And there is nobody around to help! Well, we have 4 months of this, so we have to grit our teeth and just get on with it. It is not easy, that's for sure. My one positive is at least I am retired and don't have to drive in it every day!!!!

I'm in Pa. and it just started to snow around 7:30 a.m. Not sure how much we'll get, 1-3 or 3-5 depending on who you listen to. At some point, it's to mix with rain. First snow day for the school district and a long road ahead for snow to come to eat them up.

NW Ohio....yep enough and winter hasn't even kicked in yet. I think it's going to be a long one.

Maryland was predicted to have slushy snow twice. But all it did was rain. Today same thing. Supposed to be snow, but rain. Maybe some in Western Maryland in the mountains....but icky rain here.
