The amount of food that is wasted in the demonstrations is unbelievable.

The crew eats some of it. The remainder of the food that is not fresh is tossed.

QVC presents the food in the most appealing and versatile way in order to sell it.

I have heard David (and others) mention numerous times that anything not consumed by staff and crew is composted to the extent possible.

In 2022 QVC Group launched its Studio Park composting program.

According to a company report "We launched a local composting program for food that was used for display and demonstration during video shopping  broadcasts."

The report notes that in the first year alone an estimated 20,000 lbs of food waste was diverted from landfills.

So, if you support and believe in composting as a form of repurposing, the food is not really "wasted."

I think the waste from QVC demonstrations is minor when I compared it to the millions and millions of other businesses and private homes in which there is waste.

Compost????  Fat and meat should not be composted.

Fat and meat can definitely be composted at appropriate facilities.

NYC's new mandatory composting law encompasses everything organic.

We can include meat, bones, dairy, prepared and baked goods, absolutely everything organic.  Even hair and nail clippings, if you're inclined.

This is not personal,  backyard composting.   The composting facility uses advanced technologies to compost all organic matter quickly and efficiently.
