Nook or Kindle?

I really would love to get some feedback from those who own a Kindle or Nook; I need to buy one soon: which one is best? Why?

I need something that allows me to enlarge the font quite a bit due to my really bad eyes...

which one has more options as far as downloading? can either of them be used for other things or books only? Thanks for your help! I am anxious to hear from you.
