Nook Tablet or Kindle Fire? No, really, again.

Attempting to avoid the inevitable, "Oh lawd, I've been seeing this question pop up since Hector was a pup!" response let me say that I haven't seen the answers.

Users/owners, your choice and why or why not? I can't afford a "tablet" tablet but with my eyesight deteriorating with age and acknowledging the fact that I hardly read a book anymore and I do love to read, I'm going to purchase one or the other. I've read a lot of reviews but they kind of average out to 50/50. I am an Amazon addict and the nearest B&N store is an hour away.

My needs for the eReader aren't as great or complex as some of what I've read reviewers/owners expect of their's. I'm obviously not very high-tech.
