Congrats to the ladies. Now, let's see if they can apply their beliefs to their own countries and people.

Well deserved for Malala! I'm not familiar with the man, but I congratulate them both.

“Showing great personal courage, Kailash Satyarthi, maintaining Gandhi’s tradition, has headed various forms of protests and demonstrations, all peaceful, focusing on the grave exploitation of children for financial gain,” Mr. Jagland said. “He has also contributed to the development of important international conventions on children’s rights.”

Oops.
Example for the whole world? I think here in the USA we have about the best examples that could exist.

Malala said today, she had two choices when she was confronted by the gunmen who shot her in the head, one was to die. The other was to speak up and die.

It is true we have great examples in the USA. But listening to what others have sacrificed for something we, in the US, take for granted? That's a whole different kind of example.

Well, I'm not trying to get political or start a battle here, but..........We didn't have folks take things for granted when all our liberties and privileges were fought for and many died for. I think that's an over exaggerated story about the USA.

No sure what time period you are referring to. But the ability to go to a free public school and sit at a desk, is a privilege many take for granted.

Kailash is a children's rights activist, and has protected the lives of 80,000 children since 1980. {#emotions_dlg.wub}

God bless him and Malala, both so worthy of this award!
