In my area we have trash pick up on Mondays and holidays are for the most part on Mondays, but, I still 

see my neighbors putting out their containers on

holidays.

Our trash is always picked up holiday or not.  Monday is our pickup day and all three receptacles were picked up.

I mailed a parcel post package to Oregon from California 4 days ago. I was told it would reach its destination on Tuesday (tmrw). The package was delivered today! So although regular mail wasn't delivered today, the USPS was still delivering packages.

And, of course, things never stop behind the scenes at USPS.

@shoekitty    Same here.  I check my calender first thing every morning and still get my days mixed up.  Holidays are just another day.... it's kind of sad.

My Amazon ship day is Monday unless I want things sooner. They were in the mailbox. 

We have three trash services  in my rural area and if a holiday they pick up the next day so everyone is behind one day. My regular Thursday will be Friday this week. Trash needs to be out the night before. People put trash out on holiday days as well if they want service. Starts here at 6 A.M.
