I'll tell ya our New Years is off to a great start (choke). lol.

1st DH got bronchitis, was very sick and hes asthmatic so had to use his electronic inhalant.

Then, I got bronchitis, got antibiotics and got sick on them. Now got new antibiotics so hope they clear this up finally!

Now our heater is broke! Ugh! Its hardly working and we smelled something melting but cant place why we smell something melting (like its coming up the heater vents smelling).

SO, DH called off work this morning (while I was still asleep not knowing till I got up).

So I am sitting here coughing, wrapped in throws.

Waiting for gas company to call when theyre on their way! They said quote, "People with heating issues are our first priority" That was at 7AM, its now 11:01. I hope they come soon.

In the meantime we have one of our Duraflame heaters on (thanks QVC!).

Its always something with houses. (And our home isn't that old-DH had it built before I met him). But anyway, I loved when I rented before remarrying 8 yrs ago. I used to call 1-800 LANDLORD..lol..

So I hope they come soon and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg AND I hope the rest of the year is better! lol.

The reason I've been on these boards so often is that I have pharyngitis due to no heat on the coldest days of the year! Before that, a slew of stuff, bronchitis, etc. going back and forth throughout the family. You have my complete sympathy! My little duraflame was very helpful, too, as was the Berkshire fluffy blanket piled atop other blankets. I still got sick. I HATE that Berkshire blanket. Got down my throat, up my nose, all over the place, setting off coughing jags and I'm not an allergic person. Hope you get well soon. Me too!

Oh, dear. I hope the heat can be fixed and back on quickly.

(((Shorty))) and (((Justice))), I hope you feel better soon. Take care.{#emotions_dlg.wub}

Thanks for the replies all!

Justice I was gonna buy those Berkshire blankets! Im sorry, and I hope you feel better too!

Heater was 220 bucks to fix. He said our heaters getting old (house and heater are both 20 yrs old). and will probably need a new heater/AC unit in 2 to 3 yrs. (ugh!).

He also checked for carbon monoxide. He said we are in the SAFE ZONE but numbers are a bit higher than usual due to age of heater SO he recommends DH changes filter in heater once a month now! Lastly we bought another carbon monoxide detector too. (we had 3 smoke detectors and 2 carbon monoxide, but he said we should have 1 carbon dioxide on each floor so we went and got one and more filters for heater).

Its now warm and toasty! In fact, I think the heater may have been acting up for awhile because it feels "extra" warm in here today since he fixed the issue! :-)

I'm glad your heater is working now! Yay. And the amount of the fix wasn't too bad.

This year has been a real bite so far. We're only 14 days in and honestly, I've had it with 2015. {#emotions_dlg.crying}
