Sometimes it has nothing to do with the carrier and everything to do with the retailer (hint, hint QVC).

I do believe I am entitled to whine if my item does not come in a reasonable amount of time.

There is venting disappointment, and there is OMG QVC just totally destroyed my handicapped child, Tiny Tim's entire Christmas because the present I ordered on the 22nd didn't make it on the 24th like QVC PROOOOOMISED!

I'm sure the OP was referencing the latter.

People make fun of us who start our shopping with Christmas in July.  Scoff if you must, but I'm relaxed as can be.....no worries about not having what I ordered in time for Christmas.

Frankly, to call fellow posters "fools" is worse than a little whining.

Maybe a bit of a harsh word, 'fools'. But anyone who has experienced even one Christmas shopping season should be savvy to the fact that the stores don't always have a great selection by this time of the season, and all promises from online retailers are to be taken with a grain of salt, concerning getting the right product and getting it on time, this close to the big day.

It does get tiresome hearing people complain every year about gifts that they waited until the eleventh hour to purchase, not making it in time, being wrong etc. I think we've all experienced it, and it is no longer acceptable to blindly believe one can shop just days before Christmas and expect it to all come out perfectly.

Plan ahead, buy ahead, and have contingency plans if a last minute gift doesn't pan out they way you expected. Just common sense.

I wouldn't count on that drone unless they fly it to you.  You ordered in time.

An order of mine with Williams Son. never shipped, but I called them and they put a rush on it.  Not sure if it will make it or not.  If not, we'll do something else.

I'll stop whining when retailers and delivery services stop making delivery promises they can't keep.

Re: No Whining!

I agree and I told my husband that too! lol.

He is waiting for one more gift for his mom. (I order my family he orders his. I do help him pick his sisters gifts). Well every year he starts cyber Monday. So now hes sweating out his moms last gift being delievered. (We have other gifts for her too).

And I said to him, now you know why I start shopping in JULY. This year no I started more towards black Friday. I told him I am going back to starting in July and taking my time so laugh all you want! (Yes my kids and him always said it was too early) Well I had my gifts bought and wrapped by black Friday every year until lately so I am going back to that next year!

PS) All the stuff I ordered this year is here and wrapped! If his moms last gift doesnt get here, not to be mean but oh well!

I'm just waiting for all the complaints of people whose packages did not arrive in time for Christmas.  Last night I saw UPS trucks out at 10:00 at night - these people are working overtime to get everything to you and if you don't get your package, no whining!  It's not their fault, you obviously didn't plan ahead and if thinking if you ordered something this week they could get your packages to you guaranteed, you're a fool!  So just sit back and relax, life is too short to stress about the little things.   Merry Christmas to all!

And contrary to your post, the evening news showed another UPS worker throwing packages off the back of his truck with no regard to the content.

And life is too short to scold people who ordered their gifts with guaranteed delivery expecting the UPS and USPS to do what they are paid to do.
