I have aborted on several online items, with QVC and with other sellers, due to the cost of shipping. The USPS is ridiculous, I can ship via Fedex for less, and more than once I have called in an order and then sent the seller a prepaid Fedex label for the delivery.

I worked for a catalog for a number of years and shipping costs are more than just the shipping.

I recently sent a sweater that I knit to another part of the country and it was 18.75. It was the least expensive price for me to ship the item to the recipient.

I like Amaz Prime's S&H costs.  Woman Happy

More times than not, QVC's S&H is a "No Way" for me too.

I like HSN's Free S&H events also.

I ordered a used paperback book on another site for $3.98. The shipping was $11.98! I really wanted the book, and it was out of print, so I figured the shipping was worth it.

For the most part shipping doesn't bother me. Sometimes if I'm not worried about an item selling out I'll put it in my wish list and wait for a "free shipping" day! If shipping on something I really want at the moment is high, then I will factor it into the cost and decide if it's worth it. Most of the time I decide it is!  Smiley Wink

I am trying to find "Catcher in the Rye".  It is advertised at various places and then I try to get it and it is sold out.  I read it many years ago but have a keener interest now that I am older and see life through a different lens.
