I don't think I would actually travel that far to experience totality, I don't think it's worth putting up with the crowds but if we had friends in that area that we could stay with.....I'd definitely go.

We were driving to lunch today and a large flock - at least 20-30 seagulls circled the car continually...they would drop down to the street, not eat anything, then fly back up in circles. They were at least 2-3 miles away from the Niagara River.

My co-worker said they were probably disoriented by the eclipse - this was about 30 minutes before we reached the peak - which wasn't too exciting in Western NY...I'm looking forwatd to 2014!

If we can (we'll be in our 70s), we'll go up towards Erie in 2024.  It's less than 2 hours away.  Also have a relative who has a lake side vacation home in NY, may-be we'll make it a family event.

I looked it up and the next one falls on a Monday also (ugh)...but if I can manage to still be around in 2045 that one looks like a Saturday!

and going over the Caribbean....now that would be a heck of a vacation (hurricanes not invited)
