FYI:  There is news today about studies suggesting a link between using hair dyes or straighteners and cancer.  Check out the news and make choices best for you.

The Today Show had a segment about that yesterday, and I also saw it on the evening news.  I would like more information.  They said it affected women of color much more than white women.  I'm not ready to give up my hair color.

Here is the a quote from the actual study with a link to the abstract below it.

“Fifty‐five percent of participants reported using permanent

dye at enrollment. Permanent dye use was associated with a 45% higher breast cancer risk in black women (HR = 1.45, 95% CI: 1.10–1.90), and 7% higher risk in white women (HR = 1.07, 95% CI: 0.99–1.16; heterogeneity p = 0.04).”

Shows permanent hair dyes only and nothing proof positive.  Just another thing to throw people in hysteria.

I think a better study would be if they did it on hairdressers who worked with a lot of hair dye and what their cancer risk is

Everyone needs to make their own decisions here.  But to be clear:  This is not old recycled news.  This is a new study published yesterday in the International Journal of Cancer.  You can find the article online.
